About this Programme

MDS in Public Health Dentistry is a 3-year full-time postgraduate course divided across 4 semesters. Public Health Dentistry is a branch of general dentistry that involves dispensing professional oral health care at the community level. Students enrolled to the course are trained to practise the discipline towards prevention and control of dental diseases, and promotion of dental health through organized community efforts. Public Health Dentistry is the science and art of preventing oral and dental diseases and promoting oral and dental health, and general well-being among people of the community.
