This programme is an important step towards an improvement in the traditional agriculture practices including organic farming. Modern technologies and tools are studied for better farm yields, with paramount importance to environment of protection and sustainable practices. Various skills enhancing courses have been introduced in the curriculum like nursery management, mushroom cultivation, organic farming and bio fertilizers etc.
Regular visits to Agri-business & Agriclinic centre Ministry of Agriculture, dairy and poultry farms, Integrated Pest Management Institute, Krishi Vigyan Kendra and Organic farming fields as well as Kisan Mela are arranged to enhance knowledge about novel inventions in the agriculture fields such as machinery, pesticides and seeds etc to develop Agripreneur skills among the students. The farming operations throughout the year are carried out by students under the guidance of worthy faculty. The farm provides opportunities to learn and gain experience in Organic farming, Apiculture, Vermi composting, Horticulture, Plant Pathogens, Soil Analysis and Extension activities. Beyond professional practices, the college organizes guest lectures, invite experts in their respective areas for their valuable advice.
We witness to an era of ever evolving user friendly technology that has transformed not only social structure but also the thought process of our peasantry. Hence to create a harmonious balance between 'ruralisation' and 'urbanisation', we need to design, develop and manage agriculture evolving revolutionary process to improve social economic status of the masses.
The real India essentially lives in our villages, whose livelihood is primarily bases on agriculture and its allied activities. Hence, the need of the hour is to strengthen the rural economy.
