Skill Laboratory Inauguration of TMMC&RC

The Skill Laboratory of TMMC&RC was inaugurated on 6th February, 2020 by Dr. Rajneesh Dube (IAS), Principal Secretary, Medical Education, Uttar Pradesh. The Guests of Honor for the inauguration were Shri Suresh Jain, Hon'ble Chancellor, TMU; Shri Manish Jain, Hon'ble Group Vice Chairman and Vice Chancellor, TMU, Prof. R. K. Mudgal. As per the New Competency Based Medical Education which has been implemented with effect from MBBS (Batch 2019) and based on the NMC Bill, a skill lab has to be set up in each Medical College. The Skill Lab in TMMC&RC was set by July 2019 and students had been involved in training on Manikins from the same time.

The purpose of having a skill lab is to train the students with certain basic procedure before they start seeing the patients and as a part of their role as IMG. The skill lab had been set up for basic procedures on manikins which involves procedures like Basic Life Support, Suturing, Normal Delivery, various routes of drug administration and whole body manikins.

Dr. Dube highlighted the role of sustainable development and economic growth by SMART education. He emphasized on the role of two-way education between student and teacher. He covered a range of issues which included black board teaching, medical ethics and artificial intelligence.

The inauguration was also attended by Mr. Abhshek Kapoor (Director-Administration); Mr. Ajay Garg, Mr. Vipin Jain, Principal TMMC&RC - Dr. Shyamoli Dutta; Vice Principal TMMC&RC - Dr. S K Jain, Medical Supdt. - Dr. Ajay Pant, Additonal Dean Academics - Dr. Najmul Huda, Deputy Medical Supdt. - Dr. V K Singh, Incharge Skill Lab & Prof & Head of Pharmacology - Dr. Prithpal Singh Matreja and all the Heads of the Department of TMMC&RC as well as Faculty of Department of Pharmacology.
