Yes, it is highly recommended for the students to attend the orientation as it will provide them with information about various rules, regulations and policies of the university.

No, there is no charge for the orientation

The students are suggested to move in the hostel at least one day in advance as per their orientation schedule.

In case the student has planned to arrive early in the campus, the university shall provide him /her with the hostel facility so that he/she can store the belongings.

Note-1: A security deposit of 200 USD (Refundable) will be charged from the students seeking hostel accommodation for the first time in Non AC Category. In Air conditioned category the security Fee will be 300 USD (Refundable).

Note-2: All students who are staying in the University Hostel, within the Campus or outside, will have to take food in the mess facility (Veg. or Non-Veg.) provided by the University. No refund application will be entertained once a student occupies a room in the hostel.

Note-3: Hostel fee includes mess charges and Laundry charges from 1st August till 31st May. Those using hostel facilities for June & July months, mess charges are applicable @3500 INR per month for Vegetarian food and 100 USD per month for Non-Veg food category.

Guidelines for Admission Process

Step-1: Register yourself by visiting Online Application Form and clicking on new registration.

Step-2: Fill the application form and upload the required documents for eligibility verification. You shall be issued with a Unique ID which will be required for further communication with the university.

Step-3: After the eligibility verification by the university, an offer letter (Conditional / Unconditional) shall be issued and sent to your registered email id.

Step-4: Once you receive the offer letter, make the payment as prescribed in the offer letter by bank transfer/ wire transfer / online payment and submit the receipt along with your System ID at director.int@tmu.ac.in

Step-5: After the confirmation of the fees received by the University accounts, an Acceptance letter ( visa letter) and a bonafide letter will be issued which is required to apply for the Student Visa at the nearest Indian Embassy/ High Commission in your home country. Kindly read the important information as mentioned in the acceptance letter for your post-arrival requirements.

Admission Rules

  • Applicants in their own interest must read and understand all the information published on the university website www.tmu.ac.in and otherwise published by the University from time to time.
  • The eligibility criterion for all programs for international applicants is minimum 50% in the qualifying examination and having studied the pre-requisite subjects for admission in to the desired program.
  • For Admission to Ph.D. Programs, the eligibility criterion for international student is Master's degree in the relevant discipline with 55% marks and fulfilment of any other eligibility criteria prescribed by the University from time to time.
  • Issue of offer letter (conditional or unconditional) or any information /guidance/ facilitation provided by the university should not be considered as confirmation of admission or access to any facility of university.
  • The university reserves the right to add, withdraw or change any program or tuition fees at any time, without any notice, information contained herein or otherwise published or announced by the university as well as any provision or facility as and if deemed necessary, No responsibility will be accepted by the university for hardship or expenses incurred by the applicant or any person(s) on this account, no matter how they are caused.
  • For the purpose of equivalency of the qualifying exam, the qualifications as recognized by A I U shall be considered. For any qualification not recognized by AIU, equivalency proof has to be provided by the applicant from the Indian High Commission/ Consulate in their respective country or other concerned statutory body as applicable.

Payment Procedure

Pre Arrival Information for International Students

Students should make sure about the following points before leaving their home country

  • Teerthanker Mahaveer University is just an hour drive from Delhi International Airport and you need to book your ticket to Delhi International Airport after taking a Valid Student Visa from Indian Embassy / High Commission.
  • Make sure that you have taken all the required vaccinations like Yellow Fever, Typhoid Vaccine, Hepatitis Vaccine, etc. to avoid medical complications while you are in India.
  • Make sure you inform Teerthanker Mahaveer University International Relations Division for the Airport pickup at least two weeks prior to arrival and provide the complete details of flight.
  • Make sure that you bring the Admission Letter issued by the University along with all the Certificates/Degrees and Transcripts (in original) and 15 passport size photographs.
  • You can carry all your money in form of Travellers Cheques, which can be easily redeemed at the airport as well as a number of foreign exchange offices and banks or you can use International Debit / Credit Cards.
  • Temperature ranges between 30 to 45 degree Celsius during summers and 5 to 25 degree Celsius during winters. Here the winter season starts around November so the warm material (blankets, quilts, woolens, etc.) must be brought accordingly.
  • Whilst everything is available in India, however try to get all that you would require during the initial few days. All the essentials can be availed from the University tuck shops as well as markets available around a range of 5 km from University Campus.
  • The electric standard in India works on 240 V. So, ensure that you have an adapter for your mobile or laptop if it operates on a different voltage in your country. Also the electric sockets are 2 or 3 pin so ensure that you carry a converter in case required.

Post Arrival Information for International Students

Students should make sure about the following points after arriving in India

  • After reaching Delhi International Airport, University will arrange Airport Pickup for Students who have shared their flight details with International Relations Division.
  • Student will report in the International Relations Division (IRD) along with all the required documents and interact with the reporting officer.
  • The documents will be checked and verified by IRD staff. Students will fill the registration form and submit the required documents after reading them carefully to get registered in the respective programs.
  • It is mandatory for all International students except those from Nepal and Bhutan to get their Student Visa registered at FRRO/FRO Moradabad or New Delhi within 14 days of arrival in India. University will guide and assist Student with all the required processes.
  • Student has to report International Relations Division (IRD) for Medical Checkup and also can collect their Medical Insurance Card.
  • Students joining the university after the prescribed time period may be denied admission.
  • It is the prime responsibility of the student to visit International Relations Department in time to complete the required documentations, so that no fine is levied against him/her.

Guidelines for Visa

  • Once Admission Letter / Visa Letter has been issued student should immediately apply for Student Visa at Indian Embassy / High Commission.
  • Make sure that your Student Visa is endorsed to Teerthanker Mahaveer University.
  • Make sure that you have applied for Visa well in advance and time. It generally takes 3-8 weeks to get the Indian Visa thus it is advisable to apply for the visa accordingly and consult the Indian High Commission/Embassy, if required.
  • Change of University or Institution cannot be considered. In this case you would be required to go back to your home country and apply for a new visa.
  • Make sure, if you have entered India on basis of Student Visa endorsed to Teerthanker Mahaveer University, then it is your responsibility to ensure that you directly join and report to the University. The Visa endorsed on the name of the University or obtained on the basis of University documents cannot be used for any other purpose like employment, admission to any other university/college/institute/academy etc. or for non-regular (distance/online) mode of education.
  • After reaching the University Campus, students have to get the visa verified by the University and have to deposit a copy of the valid visa at International Relations Division. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that throughout his/her study period student is on valid visa.

Guidelines for Visa Extension and FRO/FRRO

  • It is mandatory for all International students except those from Nepal and Bhutan to get their Student Visa registered at FRRO/FRO Moradabad or New Delhi within 14 days of arrival in India.
  • International Relations Department of Teerthanker Mahaveer University will guide and assist Student with all the required processes needed for FRO/FRRO Registration.
  • All International students except those from Nepal and Bhutan have to fill online application for Registration Certificate (RC) & Residential Permit (RP) on arrival to India.
  • In case the initial visa is not endorsed for the complete duration of the program or student has to extend the stay because he/she is not able to complete the program in the stipulated time then the student should apply for the extension of the visa before visa expires.
