Department of Community Health
Nursing
Welcome to the Department of Community Health Nursing, where our mission is
to prepare
competent, compassionate, and socially responsible Nursing professionals dedicated to
promoting the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities. Our
department strives to integrate academic excellence, evidence-based practice, preventive
healthcare, and community engagement to address the evolving healthcare needs of society.
Community Health Nursing plays a vital role in strengthening public health
systems through
health promotion, disease prevention, rehabilitation, and community empowerment. The
department focuses on developing students’ knowledge, clinical competence, leadership
abilities, communication skills, and critical thinking required for effective healthcare
delivery
at the community level.
Our department emphasizes experiential and student-centered learning through
community
postings, field visits, surveys, family health assessments, school health programmes, health
education activities, simulation-based training, seminars, workshops, and outreach services.
Through these learning experiences, students gain practical exposure to real-life healthcare
challenges and develop confidence in providing holistic and culturally sensitive Nursing care.
The department is supported by experienced and dedicated faculty members who
continuously mentor and guide students toward professional excellence, ethical practice,
research involvement, and lifelong learning. We are committed to fostering teamwork,
accountability, compassion, and leadership qualities among future Nursing professionals.
We also actively organize health camps, awareness programmes, national
health campaigns,
and collaborative community initiatives that contribute to public health improvement and
social responsibility. Our modern laboratories and educational resources further enhance
practical learning and skill development in community healthcare practices.
At the Department of Community Health Nursing, we believe that Nurses are not only caregivers but also educators, advocates, leaders, and agents of positive social change. We remain committed to nurturing skilled healthcare professionals who can contribute effectively to community development and quality healthcare services.
