MDS in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology & Oral Microbiology is a postgraduate dental program that focuses on the detailed study, diagnosis, and understanding of diseases affecting the oral cavity, jaws, and related maxillofacial structures, along with the microbial factors responsible for these conditions. The programme also includes an in-depth understanding of oral microbiology, where students learn about bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other microorganisms that contribute to dental and oral diseases like dental caries, periodontal infections, and oral mucosal disorders. The course combines theoretical knowledge with extensive laboratory training, including histopathology, cytology, immunohistochemistry, and advanced diagnostic techniques used in modern pathology. Students are also exposed to research methodology, enabling them to contribute to scientific studies and advancements in oral health science.
