About M.Sc. in Child Health (Paediatric) Nursing

M.Sc. in Child Health (Paediatric) Nursing, also known as Master of Science in Child Health (Paediatric) Nursing, is a specialised postgraduate nursing programme designed to prepare students for advanced clinical practice, research, teaching, and leadership roles in paediatric healthcare. This programme focuses on providing comprehensive knowledge and practical training related to the healthcare needs of infants, children, and adolescents. The duration of this programme is 2 years, divided into 6 semesters.

The curriculum combines advanced theoretical concepts with hands-on clinical exposure in hospitals, paediatric and neonatal intensive care units, and community healthcare settings to ensure that students develop strong decision-making and patient management skills. Through this programme, learners are trained to assess, diagnose, and provide specialised nursing care for children suffering from acute and chronic illnesses while also supporting their emotional and psychological well-being.

To be eligible for the MSc in Paediatric Nursing programme, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSc Nursing), and eligibility may also require some work experience in a clinical setting.

TMU’s College of Nursing is recognised for its modern infrastructure, experienced faculty, and strong focus on evidence-based nursing education. The university provides hands-on training through advanced simulation labs, paediatric labs, OSCE labs, and well-equipped skill laboratories that help students develop critical clinical competencies before entering real healthcare settings. TMU also emphasises research, innovation, and holistic learning through seminars, workshops, conferences, and interdisciplinary healthcare activities.
