About Master of Optometry

Master of Optometry (M.Optom) is a two-year postgraduate degree programme in the field of eye care and vision science that focuses on advanced clinical training, research, and diagnosis of visual disorders. Students develop expertise in examining the human visual system, identifying refractive errors, analysing eye coordination problems, and supporting ophthalmologists in treating and rehabilitating patients with vision-related conditions. It combines theoretical learning with practical exposure in advanced eye care settings.

The programme prepares graduates to work in hospitals, eye clinics, optical industries, vision therapy centres, research organisations, and academic institutions. With the growing prevalence of digital eye strain, myopia, cataracts, glaucoma, and other eye disorders, the demand for highly skilled optometry professionals is increasing rapidly across the healthcare sector. Master of Optometry Scholarships 2026

Scholarship for Jain Students:

  • All Jain students will be given upto 20% exemption in tuition fees and upto 30% in hostel fees for the entire duration of the programme.

Chancellor’s Scholarship for Staff Wards

For all Programmes except Collaborative, Dental and Medical 20% per Year

Special Scholarship for Meritorious Sports Aspirant of District/State/National Level/International Level

Upto 100%

Special Scholarship Scheme for Wards of Visually Impaired Employees of Teerthanker Mahaveer University

50% per year for the entire duration of the programme.

Remarks: Scholarships are available in the admission Year only. These rules are not applicable on programmes of one year or less than one year duration & Multiple scholarships will not be available.
