Inter-Collegiate Sports Tournament 2023 Kickoff with Excitement and Rivalry

February 10, 2023. The much anticipated Inter-Collegiate Sports Tournament 2023, by the TMIMT College of Physical Education, TMU has finally begun,bringing together students from diverse colleges to compete in various sports events. The tournament, which is being held at the Pavilion, has attracted numerous spectators who witness the high-intensity competition.


The 14-day-long event began with a cricket tournament, which included a knockout round. The tournament will feature many other competitions like basketball, football, yoga, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, squash, billiards, Kabaddi, tug of war, taekwondo, judo, wrestling, carrom, and bench press, among others in the coming days.


On the first day, 4 matches were played, in which 8 colleges took part and out of which 4 reached the next round. On Ground 1, the Faculty of Engineering vs. Nursing college competed, in which NURSING College cleared the round. While on Ground 2, the Paramedical and Pharmacy college fought, in which PARAMEDICAL College got through to the next round. In the second session, Fine Arts and Management college participated, in which MANAGEMENT College won, and in the last match, TMMC&RC and CCSIT competed, in which TMMC&RC won.


The participating 14 colleges have been preparing for this tournament for months and the teams are ready to give their best on the field. The athletes have been working hard to improve their skills, and the tournament provides them with a platform to showcase their talents, says Dr Manu Mishra, Principal, of TMIMT College of Physical Education.


The tournament is not just about winning and losing, it’s also about promoting camaraderie and sportsmanship among the participants. The students have an opportunity to interact with each other and build new friendships, creating a sense of unity and community.


The organisers have ensured that all necessary measures are in place to ensure the safety of the participants and the spectators.


The Inter-Collegiate Sports Tournament promises an exciting event filled with competitive spirit, sportsmanship, and camaraderie. “It is a suitable opportunity for the students to showcase their talents and demonstrate their love for sports.
