October 20-22, 2022. Under TMU’s “Grassroot Nurturing Programme” TMIMT College of Physical Education, organized a TMU Interschool Sports Championship. The event started with the welcome ceremony of the Chief guest Mr. A.K Dubey, District Inspector of School, Moradabad, accompanying him was Professor Raghuveer Singh, Vice Chancellor of TMU. The benign presence of Dr. Aditya Sharma, Registrar, Dr.Manjula Jain, Associate Dean of Academics made it even more special. Other dignitaries present on the dice were Professor M.P Singh, Director of Student Welfare, and Mr. Avnish, Joint Director of Admission. The chief guest Mr. A.k Dubey, District Inspector of School, Moradabad was felicitated by Professor Raghuveer Singh, Vice Chancellor of TMU with bouquets and memorabilia. The inaugural speech was presented by Professor Raghuveer Singh, Vice Chancellor of TMU, in his address he motivated the teams and mentioned that participating is more important for players rather than thinking about winning or losing. The chief guest A.K Dubey in his address explained why Physical fitness in daily life is essential for students and he also shared his life experiences with students to motivate them. He explained the role of government in organizing different sports activities on different levels to boost the players to win big. Giving the example Usain Bolt, he explained the importance of self-discipline, intolerance, and endurance in a student’s life. Concluding his words, he thanked TeerthankerMahaveer University, Moradabad for inviting him to be a part of this event. 15 teams were part of the TMU Interschool Sports Championship and their coaches were felicitated with the memento of TeerthankerMahaveer University.
The principal of TMIMT College of Physical Education, Dr. Manu Mishra was instrumental in organizing all the activities and events. The event turned out to be big in the presence of students and coaches of renowned schools of Moradabad that were invited to be part of the three-day mega event. Teams from these prestigious schools of Moradabad and nearby places participated in the events such as Basketball, Badminton, Volleyball, and Cricket with the zeal to win. The event was concluded by the inspiring words of Dr.Manjula Jain, Associate Dean of Academics, and Dr. Aditya Sharma, Registrar who motivated the students and emphasized on the importance of sports for today’s generation. They also added that rather than being disappointed in losing any competition a player should work hard on new techniques to win big. As all the teams performed with sports spirit but as the champion has to be one, Bal VidyaMandir, Sambhal was declared as the champion team of this tournament, S.S Children’s Academy, Moradabad was the 1st runner-up while M.S Public School, Dhanaura was the 2nd runner-up. With the growing demand for career options in Physical Education, TeerthankerMahaveer University, Moradabad is offering a platform for students where they can brush up their sports skills and can have extraordinary growth in this field of sports.
