TMU Organised Legal Services Authority Internship Experience Sharing Session
The DLSA Internship Experience Sharing Session was held at the College of Law and Legal Studies, TMU. The event was organised as part of the 21-day internship programme conducted by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Moradabad. The programme gave law students an opportunity to share their learning and practical experiences gained during the internship.
The session brought together students, legal experts, and faculty members. A total of 55 intern students participated in the programme and shared what they had learned during the internship.
Chief Guest Highlighted the Importance of Legal Internships
The main speaker of the event was Mr Pramod Pratyeki, Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel. He said that the internship had given students a chance to understand the justice system, legal services, and their social responsibilities.
He explained that the main aim of the District Legal Services Authority was to provide free and easy legal assistance to every person, especially those who could not afford legal help. He encouraged the students to continue serving society through legal awareness and public service.
Students Shared Their Internship Experiences
Mr Ajay Veer, Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel, reviewed the learning forms prepared by the students during the internship. He invited them to share their experiences and discuss what they had learned from different legal activities.
He also explained the importance of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Lok Adalat, and free legal aid. He said these methods helped people solve disputes quickly, fairly, and at a lower cost.
Awareness About Legal Service Schemes
Ms Ishu Sharma informed the students about the different schemes of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and the State Legal Services Authority. She also spoke about legal awareness programmes and explained how law students could help provide justice to weaker and underprivileged sections of society. She encouraged students to participate actively in legal awareness campaigns and community service.
TMU Leaders Encouraged Social Responsibility
Prof. (Dr.) Harvansh Dixit, Dean of the College of Law and Legal Studies, said that legal education was not only about learning laws but also about developing a spirit of service, compassion, and social responsibility.
Prof. (Dr.) Sushil Singh, Principal of the College, said that internship programmes like this improved students' practical knowledge. He added that such programmes prepared students to become skilled, responsible, and compassionate legal professionals.
Students from Different Universities Participated
The DLSA Internship Experience Sharing Session included students from different universities. Twenty students participated from Teerthanker Mahaveer University, twenty students came from KGK College, ten students represented IFTM University, and five students joined from Amity University, Noida.
Faculty members, including Dr Namrata Jain, Dr Dalchandra Gautam, Suvigya Saxena, and Abhay Dixit, were also present during the programme.
Conclusion
The session successfully helped law students reflect on their practical learning and understand the importance of legal aid and social service. The programme ended with a vote of thanks, and all intern students took a pledge to spread legal awareness, support free legal aid, and work towards ensuring justice for every section of society. The session strengthened students' practical knowledge and inspired them to become responsible legal professionals committed to serving the nation.
