The TMU Innovation Series, organised by the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at Teerthanker Mahaveer University, successfully brought together students, faculty, and industry experts to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology-driven learning. Conducted between November 2025 and February 2026, the TMU Innovation Series featured workshops, boot camps, and expert sessions designed to nurture an entrepreneurial mindset among students, particularly in agriculture and emerging technologies.

Through this initiative, Teerthanker Mahaveer University strengthened its commitment to building a culture of innovation and encouraged students to transform ideas into impactful solutions.

Event 1: TMU Innovation Series Encouraged Entrepreneurial Thinking

The TMU Innovation Series began with a workshop titled “Entrepreneurship & Innovation as Career Opportunities” on 14 November 2025 at the College of Agricultural Sciences. The session aimed to shift the mindset of students from job seekers to job creators by highlighting the immense opportunities in agriculture and allied sectors.

During the workshop, students were introduced to startup ecosystems, design thinking methodologies, and innovation-driven business models. The session was led by Dr Ganesh D. Bhatt, who shared insights on how students could transform innovative ideas into sustainable ventures.

A total of 75 participants, including students and faculty members, attended the session and actively engaged in discussions on entrepreneurship and innovation.

Event 2: Workshops Highlighted Agritech Startups and Innovation Ecosystem

Another major highlight of the TMU Innovation Series was the workshop on “Start-up & Innovation Ecosystem in Agri & Allied Sectors”, held on 28 November 2025. The session focused on the transformative role of agritech startups and emerging technologies in agriculture.

Participants explored modern technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, IoT, drones, and big data analytics in agriculture. The workshop also provided insights into government initiatives like RKVY-RAFTAAR, which supported startup incubation and funding.

The session was conducted by Miss Rashmi Arora, Assistant Business Manager at IVRI, Bareilly, and witnessed participation from 140 attendees, reflecting the growing interest in agricultural innovation.

Event 3: Boot Camp Strengthened Problem-Solving and Ideation Skills

To further enhance innovation skills, the TMU Innovation Series included a Boot Camp on Problem Solving and Ideation on 29 November 2025. This hands-on session encouraged students to identify real-world challenges in agriculture and develop creative solutions.

Participants learned practical tools such as mind mapping, SCAMPER techniques, and root cause analysis, which were widely used in innovation and startup development.

The boot camp helped students develop critical skills, including teamwork, creativity, leadership, and structured problem-solving, enabling them to approach agricultural challenges with innovative perspectives.

Event 4: National Startup Day Celebration Inspired Future Entrepreneurs

A major milestone in the TMU Innovation Series was the celebration of National Startup Day on 16 January 2026, themed “Building for Bharat.”

The event brought together startup mentors, innovation experts, and academicians, who shared insights into India’s growing startup ecosystem and the role of youth in driving innovation.

Students had the opportunity to interact with industry leaders, learn from their entrepreneurial journeys, and understand how innovation could contribute to nation-building and economic growth. The celebration attracted around 180 participants, making it one of the most impactful events of the series.

Event 5: Leadership and Marketing Workshops Prepared Students for Startup Success

Recognising that successful startups required strong leadership and marketing strategies, the TMU Innovation Series also hosted specialised workshops.

The Leadership in Startup – Managing Teams Through Uncertainty session focused on leadership skills required in the dynamic startup environment. Participants learned about decision-making under pressure, crisis communication, and team management.

Another workshop on Effective Sales and Marketing Strategies for Start-ups provided students with practical knowledge about customer acquisition, branding, market positioning, and go-to-market strategies. These sessions equipped students with the essential business skills needed to transform innovative ideas into successful ventures.

Event 6: AI Sessions Highlighted the Future of Research and Agriculture

The TMU Innovation Series also explored the integration of Artificial Intelligence in research and agriculture through specialised expert sessions. The Science and R&D Strengthened by Artificial Intelligence session demonstrated how AI could enhance data analysis, research efficiency, and interdisciplinary innovation.

Another session titled “Human Capital Enhancement for an AI-Ready Workforce in Mushroom Cultivation” highlighted how smart technologies were transforming traditional farming practices. Students learned about AI-based climate control systems and data-driven yield optimisation in mushroom cultivation.

These sessions emphasised the importance of developing a future-ready workforce capable of integrating technology with agriculture and scientific research.

Event 7: TMU Innovation Series Strengthened Innovation Culture

Overall, the TMU Innovation Series successfully created a dynamic platform for students to explore entrepreneurship, technology, and innovation. By bringing together experts from academia and industry, the initiative encouraged students to think creatively and develop solutions to real-world challenges.

The series not only enhanced students’ entrepreneurial awareness and technical knowledge but also strengthened the innovation ecosystem at Teerthanker Mahaveer University. Through initiatives like the TMU Innovation Series, the university continued to empower students with the skills and mindset needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving global landscape.

Event 8: Human Capital Enhancement for an AI-Ready Workforce in Mushroom Cultivation

The TMU Innovation Series concluded with a session titled “Human Capital Enhancement for an AI-Ready Workforce in Mushroom Cultivation” on 6 February 2026 at LT-15, COASTMU. The session was attended by 60 participants, including 53 students and 7 faculty members, and focused on the role of advanced technologies in modern agriculture.

The expert talk was delivered by Dr Amit Kumar Maurya, Assistant Professor at TMCOAS, Teerthanker Mahaveer University. He explained how Artificial Intelligence and smart technologies could enhance mushroom cultivation through better climate control, crop monitoring, and improved yield management.

The session also highlighted the need to bridge the skill gap in technology-driven agriculture and encouraged students to explore entrepreneurial opportunities in smart farming. Through this initiative, the TMU Innovation Series continued to promote innovation and technological adoption in the agricultural sector.
