TMU Hosts Institutional Innovation League: Inter–Intra Idea Challenge 2025

The Department of Physiotherapy, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU), successfully organised the “Institutional Innovation League: Inter–Intra Idea Challenge 2025 from November 27 to November 29, 2025. The three-day event aimed to promote innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurial thinking among students.

The event began on November 27 with a warm welcome to participants and faculty members. During the inaugural session, speakers highlighted the importance of innovation-driven education and how idea generation plays a key role in building a strong start-up culture. The objectives of the Institutional Innovation League were clearly explained, setting the tone for an engaging and knowledge-driven event.

The program was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Shivanee M. Kaul, Head of the Department of Physiotherapy, TMU. The event was efficiently coordinated by Dr Ranjit Tiwari (PT), Dr Nand Kishor Sah (PT), Dr Harish Sharma (PT), Dr Himani (PT), Dr Kanchan Kholiya (PT), Dr Shipra Gangwar (PT), Dr Priya Sharma (PT), and Dr Samarpita Senapati (PT). Their combined efforts ensured smooth organisation and active student participation throughout the event.

Students Showcase Innovative Ideas

Students from different semesters actively participated in the idea challenge by presenting innovative solutions to real-life problems. Many ideas focused on healthcare, physiotherapy practices, and sustainable development. The inter–intra format of the competition encouraged teamwork, healthy competition, and critical thinking among participants.

Faculty members played a crucial role by providing valuable feedback and guidance. This helped students improve their ideas and understand how innovation can be applied practically in real-world situations. The interactive sessions also motivated students to think creatively and explore entrepreneurial opportunities.

Winners of the Idea Challenge

After careful evaluation by the judging committee, the top three innovative ideas were selected and awarded:

  • First Prize: Shivam Chauhan and Manik Chaudhary (3rd Semester BPT) for “The Colour Changing Stress Ball”
  • Second Prize: Shristi Kumari (3rd Semester BPT) for “Modification of Swiss Ball Placement”
  • Third Prize: Teesha Sharma and Mohd. Shagil (5th Semester BPT) for “Multi-Axis Rehabilitation & Strength Testing System”

These ideas stood out for their creativity, practical application, and relevance to physiotherapy and healthcare.

Conclusion

The event concluded with a vote of thanks, marking the successful completion of the Institutional Innovation League: Inter–Intra Idea Challenge 2025. The initiative effectively achieved its goal of fostering innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit among students. Such events reflect TMU’s commitment to encouraging young minds to think beyond traditional learning and contribute meaningful solutions to society.
