TMU College of Nursing Organised Expert Talk on Sustainable Healthcare for All
The Department of Mental Health Nursing at Teerthanker Mahaveer College of Nursing, TMU, successfully organised an Expert Talk on “Creating Resilience, Sustainable, Accessible Health Care for All – A Nursing Perspective” on 02 May 2026 in the Smart Classroom of the college.
The expert session was delivered by Dr Himalayani Sharma, Senior Nursing Faculty, FN College of Nursing, GTB Hospital, Delhi. The programme was conducted to help nursing students understand the importance of Sustainable Healthcare for All and the vital role nurses play in creating an accessible and resilient healthcare system.
The event was hosted by Dr Shalini Joshi, Associate Professor; Dr ManoRanjini J., Associate Professor; Ms Arti Choudhary, PG Tutor; and Mr Ritik Saini, UG Tutor from the Department of Mental Health Nursing, TMCON.
The programme was graced by the presence of distinguished dignitaries, including Prof. Dr S. P. Subhashini, Dean, College of Nursing, TMU; Prof. Dr M. Jasline, Principal, College of Nursing, TMU; and Prof. Ram Niwas, Vice Principal, College of Nursing, TMU. Undergraduate students from Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing First and Second Years actively participated in the session.
Expert Shared Strategies for Sustainable Healthcare for All
During her insightful lecture, Dr Himalayani Sharma discussed the common challenges faced by nursing professionals in healthcare settings. She explained how stress, burnout, workload pressure, and difficulties in maintaining work-life balance can affect the performance and well-being of nurses.
She emphasised the importance of resilience and encouraged students to develop coping skills that would help them manage professional challenges effectively. Dr Sharma also highlighted practical strategies for promoting Sustainable Healthcare for All through eco-friendly and resource-efficient nursing practices.
The speaker further explained how nurses can contribute to improving healthcare accessibility by reducing barriers to quality care. She shared various approaches that can help healthcare professionals provide better services to diverse populations while ensuring fairness and inclusivity in healthcare delivery.
