One-Day Workshop in Hakimpur by NSS of Faculty of Education TMU

On May 12, 2023, B.A. NSS of the B.Ed Department of Faculty of Education, Teerthankar Mahaveer University, under the aegis of the National Service Scheme (NSS), organised a one-day awareness campaign.


The campaign was supervised by Mr. Mahesh Kumar as a coordinator and in charge. Through this campaign, the University volunteers went to Hakimpur village, which was adopted by the NSS unit as their project area. The head of the department, Dr. Ashok Kumar Lakhera, flagged off the bus to Hakimpur.


The NSS students through their efforts helped to create a "Covid Awareness Campaign" and "School Chalo Program." The people were made aware of various do's and don'ts, preventive measures, the importance of education, etc., by the volunteers. The volunteers also carried out a cleanliness drive on the premises of the primary school and junior high school, and at the same time, also motivated the students to educate themselves, instilling the importance of education in today's world.


The students explained multiple measures to avoid corona, and children's rallies with posters were taken out that attracted local people's attention. Swayamsevak Sangh Sevikas organised street plays and took out rallies and banners to bring awareness amongst the villagers. As budding educationists, the students were also made aware of their role in reforming society.


These social experiments and exposures are important aspects to grow professionals as individuals and better humans. Teerthanker Mahaveer University believes in shaping the students in a well-rounded manner and such interventions are the proof of it. The BA. B.ED students strived to solve any form of doubts with the people they interacted with, and while doing so they assisted in spreading the right awareness about multiple issues.


Dr. Ravi Prakash Singh, Dr. Mukta Gupta, Assistant Professor of the B.A.B.Ed department, Punit Yadav, Kanak Kataria, Abhishek Aluna, Naina Singh, Khushi Yadav, Anshul, Samiksha, Diksha, Atendra, Shashank, Arpit, Samridhi Singh Sharon, among the volunteers, were a part of the program. The students enjoyed contributing to the development of the society.
