Leadership in Startup: TMU Empowers Future Entrepreneurs
Teerthanker Mahaveer College of Agriculture Sciences (TMU) organised an insightful workshop on Leadership in Startup: Managing Teams Through Uncertainty on 02 February 2026. The programme was conducted under the aegis of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), TMU, as part of its continuous academic and innovation-driven initiatives.
The Leadership in Startup Workshop aimed to sensitise students and faculty about the real-world leadership challenges faced by start-ups. It also focused on equipping participants with practical strategies to manage teams effectively during phases of uncertainty, rapid change, and business growth.
Expert Insights on Startup Leadership
The session was delivered by Dr Deepak Mediratta, Director, JARDS, Moradabad, who shared valuable industry insights into leadership challenges in dynamic startup environments. During the Workshop, he explained key aspects such as team building, decision-making under pressure, and the importance of clear communication in uncertain situations. He emphasised that adaptability and resilience are crucial qualities for startup leaders.
Dr Amit Kumar Maurya, Assistant Professor, also contributed as a resource person and delivered an informative lecture. He highlighted essential leadership qualities required for aspiring entrepreneurs, including vision, confidence, and strategic thinking. His session further strengthened the impact of the Leadership in Startup Workshop by connecting theoretical knowledge with practical applications.
Interactive Learning and Participation
The Leadership in Startup Workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from a total of 60 attendees, including 53 students and 7 faculty members. The session was highly interactive, featuring discussions on real-life startup case studies, leadership dilemmas, and team management strategies.
Participants actively engaged in conversations about handling uncertainty and leading teams effectively, making the Leadership in Startup Workshop a dynamic and enriching experience. The workshop successfully created a platform for exchanging ideas and learning from real-world scenarios.
Objectives and Outcomes of the Session
The session was designed with clear objectives, including introducing leadership principles relevant to startups, improving decision-making and communication skills, and encouraging a leadership mindset among students.
