Faculty Development Programme at Teerthanker Mahaveer University

Teerthanker Mahaveer University, the best private university in UP recently organised a Faculty Development Programme focusing on the Application of Innovative Technologies for the Prevention and Management of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and the Role of Community Health Nurses. The event was hosted by the Teerthanker Mahaveer College of Nursing, one of the best nursing colleges in India. Let's delve into the enriching event that took place from 11th to 15th December 2023.

Distinguished Presence at the Event

The event was organised in TMCON, creating an optimal learning environment. The Principal and Vice Principal of TMCON graced the occasion as chief guests, lending their valuable insights to the programme. Teerthanker Mahaveer College of Nursing took the reins as the host, orchestrating a seamless experience. All faculty members of TMCON & TPCON attended, creating a vibrant atmosphere of knowledge exchange.

Key highlights of the event

The primary goal was to upgrade the knowledge of faculty members regarding the latest technologies for preventing and managing non-communicable diseases. The programme's inaugural day set the tone for an enriching experience, with Dr. (Prof.) Ram Kumar Garg delivering a warm welcome note, expressing gratitude to patrons and guiding figures. Dr (Prof) Sapna Singh, in her introduction, welcomed key figures and emphasised the significance of preventing NCDs. The second day featured a session on the National Digital Mission by Dr (Prof) Sapna Singh, exploring its implications for NCD prevention and NP-NCD programmes. Dr. (Prof.) Jasline M, Vice Principal, enlightened attendees on hypertension and its management. Day three focused on insights into diabetes care and nursing responsibilities shared by Dr. Ajay Kumar, along with detailed discussions on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and asthma prevention by Dr. Mazher Maqusood and Dr. Pradeep Nirala. Dr. Ayush Shrivastav emphasised preventive measures and practical sessions for Cardiovascular disease (CVD) prevention on day four.

Significance of the event

Teerthanker Mahaveer University's Faculty Development Programme turned out to be very successful and insightful. The programme concluded on day five with Mrs Priyanka Masih covering cancer prevention, screening, and vaccinations, followed by a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) demonstration and a session on tobacco control by Prof Jitendra Singh and Prof Ramniwas. The diverse topics and expert insights made each day a valuable contribution to the Faculty Development Program at TMU.
