World No Tobacco Day

TMDCRC observes World No Tobacco Day on 31st May 2019. This day is celebrated to bring in more awareness regarding the health impacts tobacco consumption causes.

TMDCRCs dental OPD ward receives a lot of such cases of dental and oral health problems due to the ill effects of tobacco the patients consume on a daily basis causing oral hygiene to deteriorate. Hence 31st May 2019 is observed as World No Tobacco Day to discourage tobacco consumption.

The Department of Public Health Dentistry organized a tobacco awareness campaign where patient awareness programs were conducted on the patient's economic condition, health, and society.

Dr. Manish Goyal Principal TMDCRC shared his knowledge and views regarding the various interventions which are the need of the hour in the rehabilitation of tobacco addicted individuals. Dr. Aditya Sharma Joint Registrar- Governance, TMU spoke about the devastating effects which tobacco causes on an individual's physical and mental health and the social isolation of individuals addicted to tobacco.

Vivid educational posters were displayed in the whole college discouraging tobacco use and exhibiting the harmful effects of tobacco.

Patients were personally educated with colorful illustrations and educational models about the dangers of tobacco usage such as heart attacks, strokes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cancers (oral/pharyngeal/lung), hypertension, and impotence.

Smoking leads to environmental tobacco smoke or second-hand smoke was also dissuaded to prevent suffering of non-smokers. The faculty also propagated the day further by wearing bright badges depicting observance of the world no tobacco day.

TMDCRC takes immense efforts in propagating such agendas from their students and instilling the responsibility of a doctor in them by such activities. Its cultural & educational practices make it as one of the best BDS & MDS college enlisted by the students.
