Unnat Bharat Abhiyan organized by NSS Unit

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is inspired by the idea of transformational change in rural development processes by leveraging knowledge institutions to lend a hand to build the architecture of an Inclusive India. Their mission is conceptualized as a movement to facilitate processes that connect institutes of higher education with local communities to address the developmental challenges of rural India.

Shouldering the responsibility, Faculty of Engineering???s NSS Unit organized a visit to village Elar, Tehsil Thakurdwara on 6th May 2019 wherein the students along with NSS Coordinator Mr. Vijendra Singh Rawat spread head the awareness regarding the objectives of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.

The students met the villagers to educate them on the general issue i.e. cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene and its deep impact on day to day life. Since healthy mind lives in healthy body, it is really important to keep the body healthy which can be possible only when we surround ourselves with healthy and hygienic surroundings.

The Students got an opportunity to have a word with Village Pradhan, Shrimati Indravati, an 80 year old highly proactive lady who has the credit of 20 years of serving the village as successful leader to her credit. While talking to the students she shared, initially it was not easy for her to make people realized the importance of cleanliness and hygiene but she did not give up and tried her best. By and by people started paying attention towards it and today they are very serious about these issues.

Students of Faculty of Engineering had a talk with villagers and motivated them by quoting many short stories and examples. The talk was followed by Rally.

Village Pradhan appreciated the students for their efforts and congratulated Mr. Rawat for his coordination.
