NSS Students of TMU spread Cleanliness Awareness
The National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers along with the College of Nursing, TMU organised a cleanliness drive under the programme ?Swachh Bharat Abhiyan?. Students cleaned the campus and raised the slogan ?One step towards cleanliness. The campaign was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Principal of Nursing College, Prof. Shrinath Kulkarni said, ?Students are the real ambassadors of cleanliness and motivate others to keep their homes, schools, colleges and surroundings clean?. Cleanliness is most important for physical well-being and a healthy environment added Prof. Kulkarni.
More than 200 students and volunteers engaged themselves in various activities including cleaning the surroundings of library buildings, hostel buildings, department buildings and administrative buildings. Apart from these, planted saplings in both academic and residential campuses. Awareness programmes and competitions were also conducted for students to bring about visible changes in the surroundings and to efficiently deal with waste disposal.
