Teerthanker Mahaveer University organised the Nasha Mukt Bharat Awareness Programme to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse. The programme was held in the university auditorium on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The event was organised jointly by the Department of Social Welfare, the Prohibition Department, and TMU.

The programme began with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony and the welcome of the guests. The theme of the event was "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan: Viksit Bharat Ki Pehchan." The programme encouraged students, teachers, and NCC cadets to work together for a healthy and drug-free society.

Awareness Programme Inspires Students to Stay Away from Drugs

Mr Manoj Kumar, Sub-Inspector and Programme Coordinator from the Prohibition Department, spoke about the harmful effects of drug addiction. He urged students to spread awareness in society and said that a drug-free India can only be achieved through the collective efforts of citizens.

A special attraction of the programme was a motivational magic show by renowned magician Mr India Ajay Diwakar. Through interesting tricks and meaningful messages, he encouraged young people to stay away from drugs and adopt a healthy lifestyle. His performance received great appreciation from the audience.

Several distinguished guests also addressed the gathering. Additional District Magistrate (City) Ankur Srivastava said that drug addiction affects not only individuals but also families and society. District Excise Officer Ravindra Pratap Singh explained the objectives of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and shared information about various government awareness initiatives.

District Social Welfare Officer Pragya Bajpai stressed the need for coordinated efforts by different departments and educational institutions to eliminate drug abuse. Brahma Kumaris representative Asha spoke about the importance of spiritual values and self-discipline in building a drug-free society. Art of Living representative Ritu Narang encouraged students to practise yoga, meditation, and positive thinking. Social worker Geeta Tyagi also shared her views on creating a healthier society.

During the programme, women who actively contributed to the anti-drug campaign were honoured. Neetu Saxena, Vinita Pandey, and Ayushi Tyagi received recognition for spreading awareness and supporting the campaign. At the end of the programme, all guests were presented with a copy of the Gita as a token of appreciation.

Conclusion

The Nasha Mukt Bharat Awareness Programme successfully spread the message of a drug-free and healthy society among students and the community. Teachers, students, NCC cadets, and representatives from social organisations pledged to support the vision of a Nasha Mukt Bharat and contribute towards building a stronger and more developed India.
