TMU Organises Inspirational Movie Screening on Women’s Empowerment under Mission Shakti 5.0

Moradabad, October 30, 2025:
 In alignment with the Mission Shakti 5.0 initiative, the Department of General Surgery at Teerthanker Mahaveer Medical College and Research Centre (TMMC&RC), Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU), organised an inspirational movie screening of the acclaimed short film “Ghar Ki Murgi.” The event aimed to promote women’s empowerment, self-awareness, and financial independence, while encouraging women to realise their value within families and society.

The screening witnessed enthusiastic participation from 50 female attendees and 4 faculty members, creating an engaging and thought-provoking atmosphere centred around women’s roles, resilience, and empowerment.

Objective of the Programme

The primary objective of the session was to:

  • Showcase an inspirational film portraying the challenges, struggles, and achievements of women, thereby motivating participants to embrace self-reliance and empowerment.

Programme Highlights

The programme featured the screening of “Ghar Ki Murgi,” a powerful short film that narrates the journey of a homemaker who redefines her self-worth and identity beyond domestic responsibilities. Through its compelling storyline, the film inspired participants to recognise their own strength, dignity, and contributions to their families and communities.

Following the movie screening, an interactive discussion session was held where participants shared personal insights and experiences related to gender equality, self-respect, and financial independence. The conversation also shed light on the importance of acknowledging women’s unpaid labour and encouraging their active participation in decision-making processes.

The event fostered a sense of unity and empowerment, reinforcing the message that women’s contributions are invaluable and deserve recognition and respect.
