TMU Organises Female Student Visit to Health Care Facility under Mission Shakti 5.0
Moradabad, November 7, 2025:
The College of Agricultural Sciences, Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU), organised a Female Student Visit to a Health Care Facility in collaboration with the College of Nursing, TMU, under the Mission Shakti 5.0 initiative of the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The programme aimed to enhance awareness about women’s healthcare facilities, hygiene practices, and preventive health measures available under government initiatives.
A total of 58 female students participated in this educational visit designed to align with Mission Shakti’s core objectives—women’s safety, empowerment, and well-being.
About the Mission
Mission Shakti 5.0, a visionary campaign by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, continues to empower women through initiatives promoting health, safety, and self-reliance. TMU actively participates in this mission by conducting workshops, training sessions, and awareness drives to strengthen the social, physical, and emotional well-being of women.
Objectives of the Programme
The visit focused on creating practical learning experiences for students through:
- Awareness about the healthcare facilities available for women under Mission Shakti.
- Understanding how the initiative integrates with women’s health services in hospitals and community centres.
- Promoting preventive healthcare, hygiene practices, and mental well-being among young women.
Programme Activities
The students were taken on a guided tour of the College of Nursing’s healthcare facilities, including the maternity ward, outpatient department (OPD), laboratory, and counselling rooms. Demonstrations on handwashing techniques, menstrual hygiene, and first aid were conducted by faculty experts.
Ms Chetna, Assistant Professor, College of Nursing, explained the importance of personal hygiene, nutrition, and mental health in maintaining women’s well-being. She also emphasised how Mission Shakti initiatives promote safety, dignity, and self-reliance among women in both urban and rural settings.
The visit encouraged students to become health ambassadors in their communities, spreading awareness on women’s health and government support systems.

The programme was successfully conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Praveen Kumar Jain, Chairperson & Dean, College of Agricultural Sciences, and Dr Shakuli Saxena, Event Organiser. TMU expressed gratitude to Prof. (Dr.) S. P. Subashini (Dean, College of Nursing), Dr M. Jasline (Principal), and Ms Chetna (Assistant Professor) for their cooperation in facilitating the tour and interactive demonstrations.
The event was well-coordinated with the support of the faculty and non-teaching staff, ensuring a smooth and informative experience for the visiting students.

The Female Student Visit to Health Care Facility under Mission Shakti 5.0 deepened participants’ understanding of women’s health services, government initiatives, and the essential role of healthcare professionals in empowering women. The visit not only provided valuable insights into the operational aspects of healthcare facilities but also reinforced TMU’s commitment to building a health-aware and empowered generation of women.
