TMU Organised National ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva – Viksit Bharat’ Campaign

Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU) organised the national Nasha Mukt Yuva – Viksit Bharat Campaign under the joint initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, MY Bharat, and the National Service Scheme (NSS). The campaign was conducted to spread awareness among young people about the harmful effects of drug and substance abuse.

TMU was among the 150 selected universities and colleges across India where the campaign was organised. It was also one of the 38 leading educational institutions selected from Uttar Pradesh. The selection highlighted TMU’s active role in youth awareness, social responsibility, and nation-building activities.

Programme Started with Traditional Ceremony

The programme began with the lighting of the lamp and Saraswati Vandana. Prof. (Dr.) M. P. Singh, Dean, Students Welfare, welcomed the guests and encouraged students to make the vision of a drug-free India a people’s movement.

Sachin Kumar, District Youth Officer, Moradabad, explained the MY Bharat initiative and its role in encouraging youth participation. He said that young people were not only seeking employment but were also becoming active participants in nation-building.

Students Received Message on Drug-Free Youth

Vishal Trivedi, Youth Icon of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, delivered an inspiring talk on “Viksit Bharat @2047 – Nasha Mukt Yuva.” He said that healthy, aware, and drug-free youth were one of the strongest foundations of a developed India.

Dr. N. K. Singh, Principal, TMMRC and Heartfulness Trainer, explained the mental, physical, and social effects of substance abuse. Students also watched an awareness video based on drug prevention.

More than 300 students and faculty members participated in the programme. Students and teachers took the Nasha Mukt Bharat pledge and also joined the national digital pledge through the digital platform.

TMU Promoted Youth Awareness and Social Responsibility

The programme was coordinated by Dr. Ravi Prakash Singh, Programme Officer, NSS. NSS coordinators and volunteers from different colleges also participated in the event. TMU MDS student Meghna Chaudhary, who was the Brand Ambassador of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign, also shared her views on the importance of keeping young people away from substance abuse.

Prof. (Dr.) M. P. Singh thanked all guests, NSS volunteers, students, faculty members, and the organising team. He said that TMU had always considered social responsibility an important part of education and would continue to support national awareness campaigns.

Conclusion

The Nasha Mukt Yuva – Viksit Bharat Campaign at TMU successfully encouraged students to understand the dangers of substance abuse and take responsibility for building a healthier society. The participation of more than 300 students reflected the university’s commitment to youth development, social awareness, and nation-building. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
