TMU Nursing College Organised Expert Talk on Nurses’ Well-Being
The Nursing Foundation Department of Teerthanker Mahaveer University successfully organised an expert talk on “Safeguarding the Well-Being of Nurses: Strategies for a Healthier Workforce” on 01 May 2026. The programme was conducted at Teerthanker Mahaveer College of Nursing with the aim of spreading awareness about the importance of physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being among nursing professionals and students.
The expert session was delivered by Ms Pushpa Rani, who shared valuable knowledge and practical guidance on maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle in the nursing profession. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from undergraduate students of B.Sc Nursing 2nd Semester Sections A and B, along with faculty members of the Nursing Foundation Department.
Dignitaries Graced the Event
The programme was conducted in the presence of several respected dignitaries from the Faculty of Nursing at TMU. These included Prof. (Dr) S.P. Subhashini, Prof. (Dr) M. Jasline, Prof. (Dr) Ram Kumar Garg, and Prof. Vedamurthy R. They appreciated the efforts of the department for organising an informative and student-focused session on nurses’ wellness.
Expert Shared Important Strategies for a Healthier Workforce
During the session, Ms Pushpa Rani discussed the various challenges faced by nurses in their professional lives. She explained how stress, heavy workload, long working hours, burnout, and emotional pressure could affect both personal and professional well-being. She also emphasised the importance of maintaining work-life balance to ensure long-term physical and mental health.
The resource person shared several useful strategies to create a healthier workforce in the healthcare sector. She highlighted the role of stress management techniques, self-care practices, regular exercise, healthy eating habits, teamwork, and positive communication in improving the well-being of nurses.
