TMU Marks Global Milestone with First Entry in THE World University Rankings 2027
Teerthanker Mahaveer University has achieved another significant milestone in its journey towards greater global recognition by making its first-ever entry into the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027. TMU has secured a position in the 1801-2000 global rank band, marking an important step in the university's growing international academic presence.
A Milestone in TMU’s International Rankings Journey
The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings is a globally recognised university ranking framework that assesses institutions across key areas of higher education, including teaching, research, international outlook and industry engagement.
TMU's debut in the THE World University Rankings 2027 represents a significant achievement as the University continues to strengthen its academic, research and global engagement initiatives.
This entry is particularly notable as it marks TMU's first appearance in the THE World University Rankings, adding another important milestone to the University's evolving international rankings journey.
TMU’s Global Recognition Continues to Grow
This is not the first time TMU has received recognition in national and international rankings. This achievement adds to the University's earlier rankings and recognitions and shows TMU's continued efforts towards academic excellence, research, sustainability and overall development.
In the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, TMU secured an Overall Global Rank Band of 401–600 among 1,603 participating institutions worldwide. The University also recorded notable positions across individual Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
- SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being: Rank Band 101–200
- SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation: Rank Band 101–200
- SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals: Rank Band 301–400
- SDG 5 – Gender Equality: Rank Band 601–800
TMU has also been recognised as an Institution of Happiness by QS I-GAUGE for 2025–26. The certification is based on an extensive stakeholder survey involving students, faculty and alumni, recognising the University's commitment to fostering a positive academic environment that prioritises happiness and well-being.
