TMU Leadership Talk Series: 20th Session Inspired Students Towards Nation Building
Teerthanker Mahaveer University successfully organised the 20th session of its Leadership Talk Series. The session focused on empowering young minds through learning, leadership, skill development and social responsibility. The theme of the session was “Empowering Young Minds: Learning, Leadership and Nation Building.”
Bimal Kumar Sikdar Addressed Students
The keynote speaker at the session was Bimal Kumar Sikdar, an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur, IIM Bangalore and the Maxwell School at Syracuse University, USA. He had also served as Senior Director at the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India, at the level of Joint Secretary.
During his inspiring address, Mr. Sikdar encouraged students to develop leadership qualities along with academic knowledge. He explained that academic excellence alone was not enough to succeed in the changing world. He highlighted the importance of innovation, skill development, continuous learning and social responsibility.
He also encouraged students to keep improving their skills according to global opportunities. He highlighted the need to understand and adopt new technologies and develop a habit of lifelong learning.
Focus on Youth Leadership and Nation Building
The speaker said that the development of a strong India depended on skilled, confident and visionary young people. He encouraged students to take initiative, develop leadership abilities and contribute positively to society.
The session also focused on the importance of ethical leadership and self-development. Students were encouraged to become responsible individuals who could make meaningful contributions to their communities and the nation.
Interactive Question-and-Answer Session
The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and a welcome address. This was followed by the keynote lecture and an interactive question-and-answer session.
Students and faculty members actively participated in the discussion. During the interaction, students asked questions related to leadership, ethics, career development and personal growth. Mr. Sikdar answered their questions by sharing insights from his professional experience.
Faculty members and students from the Colleges of Pharmacy, Education, Nursing, Engineering, Management and other academic institutions participated in the session.
Guests Honoured the Speaker
At the conclusion of the session, Dean Student Welfare Dr. M.P. Singh and Principal, College of Pharmacy, Dr. Ashu Mittal presented a memento to Mr. Sikdar as a mark of respect and appreciation.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Neha Anand, Assistant Director, Academics. Dr. M.P. Singh delivered the vote of thanks, and the programme concluded with the National Anthem.
