TMU Launched Swachhata Pakhwada 2026 with a Clean Campus Drive
Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU), Moradabad, officially launched Swachhata Pakhwada 2026 with great enthusiasm. The cleanliness campaign was scheduled to be observed from 1 August to 15 August 2026. The initiative was organised with the support of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India , MY Bharat , the National Service Scheme (NSS) , and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan .
The main objective of Swachhata Pakhwada 2026 was to promote the vision of "Clean Campus, Healthy Campus, Prosperous India." The university planned a series of awareness and community participation activities to encourage students, faculty members, and staff to adopt cleanliness as a daily habit.
Clean Campus Drive Marked the First Day
The first day of Swachhata Pakhwada 2026 was observed as "Clean Campus Day." A large-scale cleanliness drive was conducted across the university campus and administrative offices. Students, teachers, and staff members actively participated in cleaning different areas of the campus.
The participants worked together to keep the university clean and beautiful. They also took a pledge to maintain cleanliness and create a healthy environment for everyone. The campaign reflected TMU's commitment to building a cleaner and greener campus.
Series of Awareness Activities Were Planned
During the 15-day campaign, several activities were scheduled to spread awareness about cleanliness and environmental responsibility. These activities included a cleanliness pledge, a plastic-free campus campaign, waste segregation drives, water conservation programmes, green campus initiatives, community cleanliness campaigns, and health and hygiene awareness sessions.
The university also planned a Swachh Bharat Rally, innovation competitions, digital cleanliness campaigns, Best Out of Waste competitions, cleanliness awareness programmes in schools, and voluntary community service (Shramdaan). These events were designed to encourage active participation and inspire students to contribute to society.
University Encouraged Active Participation
The university administration appealed to all students, faculty members, and staff to participate actively in every activity of the programme. The campaign aimed to create awareness about environmental protection and promote responsible behaviour among the university community.
The inaugural programme was attended by Dean Student Welfare Dr. M. P. Singh, Dr. Madhav Sharma, NSS Coordinator Dr. Ravi Prakash Singh, Deepak Malik, Mamta Yadav, several faculty members, and students. Their presence highlighted the university's collective commitment to cleanliness and sustainable practices.
