TMU Hosts Mission Shakti 5.0 Awareness Programme on Women’s Safety and Digital Responsibility
The College of Computing Sciences & IT (CCSIT), Teerthanker Mahaveer University, organised a comprehensive awareness programme under Mission Shakti 5.0, focusing on women’s safety, empowerment, and responsible digital behaviour. The event brought together students, faculty members, and experts to address emerging challenges faced by women in today’s digital and social environment.
Introduction
Mission Shakti 5.0 is a flagship initiative of the Government of Uttar Pradesh that emphasises women’s safety, dignity, empowerment, and social awareness. As part of this mission, CCSIT, TMU hosted a keynote lecture and a poster-making competition to promote meaningful discussions on women’s safety in both physical and digital spaces.
The programme aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of cyber safety, responsible online behaviour, and the crucial role of youth in fostering a safer, more respectful society.
Objectives of the Programme
The event was designed with the following objectives:
- Enhancing understanding of women's safety, empowerment, and digital responsibility
- Educating youth on cybersecurity, safe online practices, and ethical digital conduct
- Encouraging students to express empowerment themes creatively through the poster competition
- Promoting a culture of respect, equality, and social accountability on campus
- Reinforcing the role of young individuals in supporting safety and empowerment initiatives
Programme Activities
Keynote Lecture
A thought-provoking keynote session was delivered by Dr. Vaishali Malik, Assistant Professor, Oral Medicine and Radiology, Dental College & Research Centre, TMU.
Her lecture addressed critical issues such as:
- Women’s safety in contemporary social and digital contexts
- Cyber awareness and responsible online conduct
- Navigating challenges such as cyberbullying, online harassment, and misuse of digital platforms
- Practical strategies to ensure personal security and promote a respectful environment
Students gained valuable insights into maintaining safety in digital spaces and contributing towards a positive social ecosystem.
Poster Competition
The poster-making competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students who creatively depicted themes related to:
- Women’s empowerment
- Safety and respect
- Digital responsibility
- Social accountability
The activity fostered creativity, critical thinking, and effective visual communication, encouraging students to reflect deeply on empowerment and safety narratives.
Acknowledgements
The event was organised under the able leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Kumar Dwivedi, Dean (Faculty of Engineering & CCSIT), and Dr Preeti Rani, Assistant Professor, Event Organiser, CCSIT.

Conclusion
The Mission Shakti 5.0 programme at CCSIT, TMU successfully advanced awareness regarding women’s safety, empowerment, and responsible digital conduct. The keynote lecture imparted essential knowledge on navigating digital spaces with caution and integrity, while the poster competition encouraged students to voice empowerment messages creatively.
The collective participation of students, faculty, and organisers ensured that the initiative made a strong and lasting impact, reinforcing TMU’s commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and empowered educational environment.
