Experts Emphasised a Multidisciplinary Engineering Approach

The conference began with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, Saraswati Vandana, and Shankhnaad. Several distinguished guests attended the event, including Prof. Sachin Maheshwari, Vice Chancellor of Guru Jambheshwar University; Prof. Ashish Kumar Singh from MNNIT Prayagraj; Mr Anil Kumar Mittal, Chief Engineer of Smart City Moradabad; and Dr Desh Deepak Sharma from Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, Bareilly.

Senior officials from TMU, including Vice Chancellor Prof. V.K. Jain, Dean Academics Prof. Manjula Jain, and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. R.K. Dwivedi, also participated along with faculty members and students. The guests were honoured with Tulsi plants and copies of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita.

During his address, Prof. Sachin Maheshwari stressed that industrial waste processing was extremely important for environmental protection. He warned that releasing untreated industrial waste into rivers could create serious environmental challenges in the future. He further stated that sustainable development in engineering required a multidisciplinary approach where different branches of engineering worked together to solve modern challenges.

He also highlighted that the increasing use of electric vehicles and artificial intelligence technologies was rapidly raising energy demand. Therefore, renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power need greater attention and investment.

Discussions on Sustainability, Smart Cities, and AI

Prof. Ashish Kumar Singh from MNNIT Prayagraj said that technical education needed significant changes to promote sustainability. According to him, students must be made aware of the balanced use of natural resources to secure the future for the coming generations.

Mr. Anil Kumar Mittal, Chief Engineer of Smart City Moradabad, explained that the concept of smart cities was deeply connected with sustainability. He shared that better drainage systems, underground electric supply networks, and smart traffic management were examples of coordinated engineering efforts. He also invited TMU engineering students for internship opportunities in Smart City projects.

The conference also featured international expert sessions. Mr Yuvaksh Thukral, Senior Project Manager at the Canadian AI company Thoughtworks, delivered an online lecture on “AI: The Next Electrification Challenge.” He explained that the increasing use of AI technologies would significantly increase energy consumption in the future.

Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Director and AI Research Scientist at the University of Bonn, Germany, spoke on “AI Progress on Being Relevant in the Job Market.” He emphasised that innovation skills and technical expertise would become equally important for future career growth.

Conclusion

The ICISSE-2026 conference at TMU successfully highlighted the importance of sustainable development in engineering and encouraged discussions on green technologies, AI, renewable energy, and smart city development.

The event provided students and researchers with valuable industry insights and global exposure. According to the organising committee, selected research papers from the conference would be published in ISBN-supported conference proceedings, making the event a significant academic achievement for TMU.
