TMU Held Blood Donation Camp to Promote Life-Saving Service
Teerthanker Mahaveer University organised a Blood Donation Campunder the National Blood Donation Campaign. The camp was organised by the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit at the Blood Bank of TMU Hospital. The event was conducted as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
Faculty Members and Students Participated
Faculty members, students, and NSS volunteers from different colleges of the university participated actively in the blood donation camp. More than 40 faculty members and students had registered for blood donation through a Google Form before the event.
A total of 22 people donated blood during the camp. The donors included three faculty members, while the remaining donors were students. The event encouraged members of the TMU community to contribute to a meaningful social cause and spread awareness about the importance of blood donation.
Prof. MP Singh Encouraged Blood Donation
Prof. MP Singh attended the programme as the Chief Guest. He encouraged young people to participate actively in blood donation activities. He highlighted that blood donation was a form of life-saving service because donated blood could help patients in need.
The programme was managed under the leadership of NSS Coordinator Dr. Ravi Prakash Singh. He had coordinated the registration process and encouraged students and faculty members from different colleges to participate in the campaign.
Dr. Ravi Prakash Singh said that blood donation was not only a social service but also a humanitarian commitment to help people in need. He also appealed to the university community to participate actively in similar public welfare activities in the future.
Faculty and Students Donated Blood
Several faculty members and representatives from different departments participated in the camp. The donors included Dr. Akash Verma from Pharmacy, Dr. Vinod Kumar Jain, Principal of the Faculty of Education, Deepak Vishwakarma from Fine Arts, Dr. Neha from the College of Agriculture, and Dr. Avinash Raj from the College of Management, TMIMT.
Deepak Malik, Mamta Yadav, Omveer Singh Yadav, along with other faculty members, students, and participants, were also present during the programme.
TMU Blood Bank Team Supported the Camp
The TMU Blood Bank team provided complete support for the successful organisation of the camp. The medical team included Dr. Ashutosh Kumar, Professor and Blood Centre In-charge; Dr. Shyamoli Dutta, Medical Officer, Blood Centre; Dr. Nikhil, Assistant Professor, Pathology; Dr. Pooja Pandey and Dr. Komal Paswal, Junior Residents; and technical and support staff members.
The team helped ensure that the blood donation process was conducted properly and smoothly throughout the camp.
Conclusion
The Blood Donation Camp at TMU promoted the values of social responsibility, community service, and compassion among students and faculty members. The camp successfully conveyed the message of the National Blood Donation Campaign, “Donate Blood – Save Lives.” The event also encouraged the TMU community to become part of future social welfare initiatives and spread the message: “Donate Blood, Save Lives – Be a Hero.”
