TMU Conducts Role Play on “Good Touch and Bad Touch” Under Mission Shakti 5.0
Under the Mission Shakti 5.0 initiative, the Teerthanker Parshvnath College of Nursing (TPCON), Teerthanker Mahaveer University, in collaboration with the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), organised a role play on “Good Touch and Bad Touch” for school students at Composite Vidyalaya, Chak Chhavi Village, District Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, on 9 October 2025.
The program aimed to raise awareness among young girls about personal safety, appropriate behaviour, and self-protection, ensuring they can recognise, resist, and report any form of inappropriate touch. A total of 43 girl participants and three female faculty members took part in the session.
Mission Shakti 5.0: Strengthening Women’s Safety and Empowerment
Mission Shakti 5.0 is a flagship Government of Uttar Pradesh initiative that focuses on strengthening the safety, dignity, and empowerment of women and girls through awareness, capacity building, health education, legal aid, and self-defence training.
The awareness session at Chak Chhavi Village reflected the mission’s theme — “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar” (Healthy Woman, Empowered Family) — by instilling confidence and safety awareness among children through interactive learning.
Program Activities: Learning Through Role Play
The session began with the felicitation of the school principal by Ms Shruti Saxena, UG Tutor, who presented a token of appreciation on behalf of the college.
Resource Person Ms Shruti Saxena led the session, elaborating on the objectives of Mission Shakti 5.0 and highlighting its role in ensuring safety, security, and empowerment for women and children. She explained the difference between good touch and bad touch, providing practical examples to help students recognise safe and unsafe situations.
She also discussed the importance of personal boundaries, consent, and the right to say “no” to any unwanted or uncomfortable touch.
To make the learning more interactive and impactful, first-year ANM students performed a role play demonstrating real-life scenarios. Through dramatised examples, the students illustrated how to identify inappropriate behaviour and respond confidently by seeking help from trusted adults.
Building Confidence and Awareness Among Students
The role play successfully engaged young participants, encouraging them to understand and communicate openly about personal safety. It also promoted a culture of respect, empathy, and awareness among the students, helping them differentiate between positive and inappropriate physical interactions.
By educating children about their rights, boundaries, and voice, the session aimed to boost their confidence and self-esteem, while fostering a supportive environment for open discussions about child safety and empowerment.
Conclusion: A Step Toward a Safer and Informed Generation
The role play on “Good Touch and Bad Touch”, organised under Mission Shakti 5.0, proved to be a valuable and engaging educational experience. It empowered the school children of Composite Vidyalaya, Chak Chhavi Village, to recognise unsafe situations and assert their right to safety and dignity.
The activity not only enhanced the students’ understanding of personal safety and consent but also aligned with TMU’s broader mission to build a safe, empowered, and informed society through education and awareness.
The program was successfully organised under the guidance of the Principal, Teerthanker Parshvnath College of Nursing, TMU.
