TMU Conducts Debate & Cyber Quiz Competition Under Mission Shakti 5.0
As part of Mission Shakti 5.0, an initiative dedicated to strengthening women’s safety, empowerment, and digital awareness, the College of Computing Sciences & Information Technology (CCSIT), Teerthanker Mahaveer University, organised a series of activities focusing on cyber safety, digital ethics, and responsible online behaviour.
The second day of Mission Shakti at TMU featured two impactful events—an engaging Debate Competition and an educational Cyber Quiz. These activities were designed to enhance analytical thinking, promote informed digital discussions, and improve students’ understanding of cybersecurity, online safety, and digital responsibility. Through active participation, students explored real-world cyber challenges and gained insights into digital ethics and secure online practices.
Objectives of the Programme
The Debate & Cyber Quiz Competition aimed to:
- Promote awareness of cyber safety, responsible online behaviour, and digital ethics
- Develop critical analysis and communication skills on emerging digital issues
- Enhance knowledge of cyber laws, online fraud, and safe internet usage
- Empower students to become responsible and vigilant digital citizens in alignment with Mission Shakti 5.0
Programme Activities
1. Debate Competition: “Cyber Safety & Digital Ethics”
The debate witnessed enthusiastic participation, with students presenting compelling viewpoints on:
- Cybersecurity threats and preventive strategies
- Rights and responsibilities in the digital age
- AI ethics, data protection, and privacy concerns
Participants supported their perspectives with real-time case studies and current digital trends, demonstrating strong reasoning, clarity of thought, and confident communication. The debate encouraged critical reflection on the challenges faced in today’s digital ecosystem.
2. Cyber Quiz: “Cyber Awareness Challenge”
The Cyber Quiz tested and strengthened students’ understanding of:
- Cyber hygiene and safe online habits
- Indian cyber laws and important legal provisions
- Online scams, phishing attacks, and digital fraud prevention
Conducted through multiple rounds—including MCQs, scenario-based questions, and rapid-fire—the quiz enabled students to assess their cyber awareness and learn essential practices required for safe digital engagement.
Acknowledgements
The programme was successfully conducted under the esteemed guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Kumar Dwivedi, Dean, Faculty of Engineering & CCSIT, TMU, and Dr Preeti Rani, Event Organiser.
Special appreciation is extended to Ms Swati Chauhan and Ms Aavantika, Assistant Professors, CCSIT, for arranging the Lecture Theatre and supporting event logistics.
Anchors Vrinda Agarwal and Jiya Singh, along with volunteers Gauri Gupta and Naman Jain, were commended for their excellent coordination and dedicated efforts. The contribution of all faculty members and non-teaching staff further ensured the smooth conduct of the event.
Conclusion
The Debate & Cyber Quiz Competition under Mission Shakti 5.0 successfully enhanced students’ awareness of cyber safety, digital ethics, and responsible online behaviour. The activities strengthened students’ analytical abilities, encouraged meaningful discussions on cyber challenges, and promoted essential cyber hygiene practices.
With enthusiastic participation and valuable guidance from faculty, the event played a significant role in empowering students to become responsible and ethical digital citizens, contributing to a safer digital environment for all.
