TMU Conducted 6-Day Online Faculty Development Programme on Education 5.0
Teerthanker Mahaveer University, through its Centre for Teaching, Learning and Development (CTLD), successfully conducted a 6-Day Online Faculty Development Programme on “Education 5.0: Integrating Technology, Humanity and Innovation for Future-Ready Higher Education” from 10 to 15 August 2026. The programme was conducted online through Google Meet.
Programme Focused on Future-Ready Education
The Faculty Development Programme focused on the changing needs of higher education and explored how technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI), innovation and human-centred teaching could work together. The programme was aligned with NEP 2020 and SDG 4 – Quality Education.
The FDP recorded 176 registered participants, including 52 from TMU and 124 external participants. Faculty members from 142 different institutions participated in the programme. Across six sessions, the programme received 806 feedback responses, showing strong participant engagement.
Six-Day Learning Journey
The six-day programme covered different aspects of Education 5.0. Day 1 introduced Education 5.0 and the changing role of educators, with Prof. (Dr.) Pankaj Kumar Singh as the resource person.
Day 2 focused on AI for Educators, led by Dr. Pinaki Adak, and explored the use of AI in teaching, assessment and content creation. Day 3, conducted by Dr. Jasmine Stephen, highlighted empathy, inclusion and the human side of learning.
Day 4 focused on experiential learning through simulations and active learning strategies and was led by Prof. (Dr.) Yogesh Kumar. Day 5, conducted by Dr. Shipra Gangwar, explored practice-based learning and skill development. The final session was led by Ms. Nidhi Gupta and focused on assessment, feedback and lifelong learning.
Strong Assessment and Participant Feedback
The FDP included pre-assessment, mid-programme assessment and post-assessment, with each assessment carrying 15 marks. The average scores were 14.41/15 in the pre-assessment, 14.24/15 in the mid-programme assessment and 14.52/15 in the post-assessment.
Participant feedback was also highly positive. The programme received an average 4.62/5 rating for overall experience. Topic relevance received 4.63/5, clarity and understanding received 4.59/5, engagement and interaction received 4.54/5, and audio/video quality received 4.60/5.
Conclusion
The Faculty Development Programme provided faculty members with practical ideas for using technology and AI while maintaining human-centred and inclusive teaching practices. With participation from 176 faculty members and representation from 142 institutions, the programme strengthened professional learning and supported TMU’s commitment to innovative and quality higher education.
