The Mahaparv began with the ceremonial hoisting of the Jain religious flag and the auspicious procession of Shri Ji from the Jinalaya to Riddhi-Siddhi Bhawan. Around 1,000 students aged 18 to 25 years, along with faculty members and the University family, participated in the collective worship on the opening day.

Ten Days of Daslakshan Dharma and Spiritual Reflection

The festival provided an opportunity for the University community to reflect upon the ten characteristics of Jain Dharma and their relevance to everyday life. Across the celebrations, discourses emphasised values such as forgiveness, humility, straightforwardness, purity, truth, self-restraint, austerity, renunciation and other aspects of spiritual discipline.

The religious programmes combined traditional rituals with meaningful discourses. Students and members of the University community regularly participated in abhishek, shantidhara, aarti, Tattvartha Sutra recitation and various forms of puja under the guidance of Pandit Rishabh Shastri Ji.

The celebrations also connected spiritual teachings with practical values. Discourses during the festival highlighted forgiveness and inner peace, humility and freedom from ego, straightforwardness in thought and conduct, self-control and discipline, austerity and self-purification, and the significance of renunciation and responsible use of material resources.

Jain Philosophy Comes Alive Through Cultural Presentations

A distinctive feature of the Mahaparv was the integration of Jain philosophy, religious narratives and cultural expression. Students from different colleges of TMU presented a series of theatrical and cultural programmes based on Jain scriptures, historical narratives and spiritual themes.

Among the presentations were performances based on Acharya Samantabhadra's life and teachings, the story of Lord Parshvanath at Ahichchhatra, the Jain Mahabharata, the Jain Ramayana based on Padmapurana, and the story of Vishnukumar Muni's intervention to protect Acharya Akampanacharya and his monastic group.
These presentations brought spiritual and ethical themes to the stage through acting, dialogue, dance, costumes and stagecraft. The performances particularly highlighted values such as renunciation, self-realisation, restraint, compassion and freedom from worldly attachment.

Students and Faculty Participate with Devotion

The Mahaparv witnessed sustained participation from students, faculty members and the wider University family. Daily religious activities and evening programmes created opportunities for members of the University community to participate collectively in worship and cultural celebrations.

The evening aarti became a regular highlight, with Shri Ji's aarti being taken from the Jinalaya to Riddhi-Siddhi Bhawan accompanied by devotional music and, on different occasions, dhwaj-ghosh, drums and other traditional instruments. Students and faculty members participated in the aarti and bhakti programmes with enthusiasm.

Several student groups and college teams also contributed to the cultural programmes, while students participating in the presentations were recognised during the celebrations. Final-year students from different colleges were also given farewell during various programmes held as part of the Mahaparv.

Grand Aarti with 1,008 Diyas Marks the Finale

The concluding celebrations brought together the devotional spirit that had characterised the entire ten-day Mahaparv. A special musical aarti was organised at Riddhi-Siddhi Bhawan, with the aarti being brought from the residence of the Chancellor's family to the Jinalaya.

Members of the Chancellor's family, along with University teachers and students, participated in the grand aarti with 1,008 diyas, accompanied by devotional songs and dance. Guests from Muzaffarnagar, including Shri Samyak Jain, Shri Rajiv Jain and their family, also participated in the Shri Ji aarti and devotional dance.

Parana Marks an Emotional and Spiritual Conclusion

One of the most meaningful moments of the concluding ceremony was the parana of devotees who had observed a ten-day fast during the Mahaparv.

Chancellor Shri Suresh Jain, Smt. Veena Jain, GVC Shri Manish Jain, Smt. Richa Jain, Executive Director Shri Akshat Jain and Smt. Jahnavi Jain personally performed the parana of the fasting devotees. The occasion brought together the values of devotion, discipline, affection and community participation.

Following the parana, members of the faculty and student community shared a meal featuring dishes including Moradabadi dal, moong chilla, halwa and a variety of fruits, adding a warm and communal dimension to the conclusion of the festival.

‘RSJ Experience’ Adds Musical Grandeur to the Closing Ceremony

The concluding celebration was further enriched by the special musical programme ‘RSJ Experience’, featuring renowned Jain devotional singers and musicians Rishabh Jain and Sambhav Jain.

Their performances centred on spiritual themes including Lord Mahavir, the Namokar Mantra and Paryushan, bringing together devotional music and a contemporary musical style. Their performances drew enthusiastic participation from students, devotees and members of the University family, creating a vibrant devotional atmosphere across the campus.
