TMU Began Deeksharambh-2026 for Newly Admitted Students
Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU) began its four-day Deeksharambh-2026 Student Induction Programme for newly admitted first-year students of the 2026-27 academic session. The programme was designed to help students understand the academic system, campus environment, student services, rules, and facilities of the university.
Deeksharambh-2026 Began with a Lamp Lighting Ceremony
The first day of Deeksharambh-2026 was organised for newly admitted students from Nursing, Physiotherapy, and Paramedical programmes. The programme began with a lamp lighting ceremony, followed by a welcome for the students and guests.
Joint Registrar Dr. Vaibhav Rastogi introduced the students to TMU and shared important information about the university. Vice Chancellor Dr. (Prof.) V. K. Jain gave his blessings and encouraged the students to begin their university journey with discipline and confidence.
Students Learned About Academic and Campus Facilities
During the programme, Dean Academics Dr. Manjula Jain explained the academic structure of the university. Dean Students Welfare Prof. M. P. Singh informed students about student welfare schemes and support services. Digital Marketing Manager Ankit Jain explained the importance of digital platforms.
Chief Proctor Prof. Sushil Singh spoke about discipline and student responsibilities. Controller of Examinations Dr. Ashendra Saxena explained the examination system, while Deputy Chief Warden Dr. Ratnesh Jain discussed hostel rules and regulations.
Students were also introduced to the role of the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Development (CTLD), the Corporate Resource Centre (CRC), sports facilities, and library resources. College deans and principals also conducted college-level orientation sessions.
Programme Focused on Student Development
The induction programme focused on helping students understand university life and the opportunities available to them. Students learned about teaching and learning facilities, student welfare services, examinations, discipline, hostel guidelines, sports, library resources, and other campus facilities.
The main aim of this programme was to provide students with a smooth transition into higher education. The programme also highlighted the importance of discipline, active participation, personal development, and academic growth.
Four-Day Schedule of Deeksharambh-2026
The four-day programme was scheduled from August 18 to August 21. On August 18, the programme was organised for Nursing, Physiotherapy, and Paramedical students. CCSIT students attended the programme on August 19, followed by TMIMT students on August 20.
On August 21, the programme was scheduled for students from Pharmacy, Physical Education, Education, Fine Arts, Law and Legal Studies, Agriculture, and Engineering.
Conclusion
The first day of Deeksharambh-2026 concluded with a vote of thanks and the national anthem. The programme provided newly admitted students with useful information about TMU's academic system, campus facilities, student services, and university rules. It helped students begin their new academic journey with greater confidence and a clear understanding of university life. The programme was conducted by Dr. Madhav Sharma.
