TMIMT Holds ‘Plant Trees, Save Environment’ Campaign to Promote Sustainability
Teerthanker Mahaveer Institute of Management & Technology (TMIMT), Faculty of Commerce & Management, Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, organised an impactful ‘Plant Trees, Save Environment’ campaign on 14th August 2025 under its Community Engagement Programme. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about ecological conservation and encourage students to take proactive steps toward protecting the environment.
Active Participation by Faculty and Students
The event began with a plantation drive where faculty members, staff, and students planted a variety of saplings within the campus premises. All participants took an active role in planting medicinal, flowering and oxygen-rich trees to demonstrate their commitment to building a green and healthy ecosystem.
Students were briefed on the importance of increasing green cover, conserving biodiversity, and adopting sustainable lifestyle practices. The activity reinforced their sense of responsibility towards natural resources and highlighted the need for collective action to safeguard the planet.
Encouraging Responsible Environmental Behaviour
During the programme, faculty members emphasised how environmental awareness among youth is essential for addressing challenges such as climate change, pollution, and deforestation. They encouraged students to take small yet meaningful steps—like planting trees, reducing waste, conserving water, and promoting cleanliness—to contribute positively to society.
Students expressed that the plantation drive helped them understand the importance of sustainability and inspired them to continue participating in eco-friendly initiatives. Many took pledges to nurture the planted saplings and promote environmental consciousness among their peers.
