TMCOP Organises Guest Lecture on “Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): The Heart of c-GMP-Based Research and Innovation”

The Teerthanker Mahaveer College of Pharmacy (TMCOP), under the aegis of Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU) and in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), successfully organised a guest lecture titled “Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): The Heart of c-GMP-Based Research and Innovation” on 6th October 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, at the TMCOP Seminar Hall.

The session was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Rahul Pratap Singh, Professor and Assistant Dean (Research & Development), Department of Pharmacy, School of Healthcare and Allied Sciences, GD Goenka University, Gurugram, Haryana, as the distinguished guest speaker.

Insights from the Session

The event began with a warm welcome and introduction of the guest by Ms. Urvashi Saxena, Assistant Professor, TMCOP. In her address, Prof. (Dr.) Ashu Mittal, Principal, TMCOP, highlighted the significance of academic interactions in enhancing research standards, promoting compliance with c-GMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices), and ensuring research integrity across pharmaceutical disciplines.

Delivering his lecture, Prof. (Dr.) Rahul Pratap Singh emphasised that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) form the backbone of c-GMP-based research and innovation. He discussed their crucial role in maintaining consistency, reproducibility, data integrity, and regulatory compliance within laboratory and industrial settings.

The speaker elaborated on the importance of SOP documentation, audit preparedness, and quality assurance, providing real-world examples from pharmaceutical R&D environments. His presentation inspired participants to adopt systematic, compliant, and ethical research practices aligned with global standards.

Conclusion and Acknowledgements

At the end of the session, Prof. (Dr.) Mayur Porwal, Vice Principal, TMCOP, along with senior faculty members, felicitated the guest speaker with a token of appreciation for his valuable contribution. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Phool Chandra, expressing gratitude to the guest, faculty, and students for their enthusiastic participation and commitment to research excellence.
