School Health Programme 2018-19

The faculty and the students of M.Sc. Nursing 1st yr and B.Sc Nursing 4th yr of Teerthanker Mahaveer College of Nursing together organized "School Health Programme" at primary school, village Mauri Jat, Amroha from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm on 16.10.2018.

From the school 58 students from Nursery to 5th Class were present. The programme was anchored by Ms. Gurpreet Kaur , BSc (N) 4th year.Welcome speech by Mr. Bikas , BSc (N) 4th year. Invocation song and community song by Ms. Divanshi Kaushik and group BSc (N) 4th year. Followed by Health Education on healthy habits, personal hygiene, environmental hygiene was imparted through a role play and using suitable A.V Aids. As a part of it environment cleanliness drive was executed by making the students to clean the school premises.

Finally Comprehensive physical assessment was done for all the students. Each B.Sc. (N) 4th year student was allotted 1 student for physical assessment and every 15 student group was supervised by one M.Sc. (N) Ist year student. As a part of it, monitored height & weight of the children, visual acuity, ear canal & dental status and analysed for any defects, deformities or diseases present currently. The Body Mass Index was calculated to classify the physical health status of the students and to identify any cases of malnutrition.
The School Principal said that the Programme was very good & we are grateful & thanked to the services provided by the Teerthanker Mahaveer College of Nursing. I hope this type of check-up would be again conducted in the future.
