Post Graduate Teaching Program at TMMC&RC

On July 28, 2022, the Department of Ophthalmology, Teerthanker Mahaveer Medical College & Research Centre conducted the "Post Graduate Teaching Program" of the Uttar Pradesh State Ophthalmological Society (UPSOS). The program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp in front of Maa Saraswati in the lecture theatre of Teerthanker Mahaveer University. The program started with an inspiring and motivational speech by Dr. Shyamoli Dutta, Principal, TMMC&RC, to all the post-graduate students.

Eminent speakers included Dr. Deepak Mishra (Scientific Secretary, UPSOS); Dr. Alka Gupta, Professor, LLRMC Meerut; Dr. Neelima Mehrotra, Professor & HOD, SRMS Bareilly; Dr. R. C. Gupta, Principal, LLRMC, Meerut; Dr. Mohita Sharma, Secretary UPSOS; Dr. Pradeep Agarwal, Director, C.L. Gupta Eye Institute, Moradabad; Dr. Shalini Mohan, Professor, GSVM Kanpur; Dr. Farhat Abrar, Professor, Subharti Medical College, Meerut and Dr. Rashi Sharma were invited to give a talk on important topics in ophthalmology and to share their expertise with the students.

Dr. Ashish Chander, head of the department, welcomed all the guest speakers and encouraged postgraduate students from various medical colleges to carve themselves from the experiences of the renowned ophthalmologist. Dr. R. C. Gupta, Principal, Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College, LLRMC, Meerut, shared his experience in dealing with ptosis, whereas Dr. Alka Gupta shared her experience with childhood blindness.

Dr. Mohita Sharma (Secretary, UPSOS) gave an excellent talk on corneal topography and encouraged the postgraduate students to participate in various academic sessions and conferences as they enhance the overall learning of young ophthalmologists. Dr. Deepak Mishra (Scientific Secretary, UPSOS) delivered a talk on how to write an abstract and the importance of paper publication for postgraduate students.

The Ophthalmology Department of Teerthanker Mahaveer Medical College and Research Centre offers a diverse range of surgical and tertiary services for disorders of the eye. The outpatient section of the TMU Hospital provides patients with high-quality eye treatment along with round-the-clock emergency assistance. As per the NMC guidelines, the college regularly conducts academic activities for undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MS) courses.
