Portrait Competition organised by Teerthanker Mahaveer University

TMU’s College of Fine Arts, one of the best fine arts colleges in India, recently organised a captivating Portrait Competition on the auspicious occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary, celebrated as National Unity Day on October 31, 2023.

Event Details

The event took place at the College of Fine Arts, bringing together creative minds from various academic years. Let's delve into the details of this enriching artistic endeavour. The vibrant participation of students from BFA Ist to BFA IVth year added to the event's success.

Distinguished Presence at the Event

The event witnessed the presence of esteemed individuals, including Mr. Ravindra Dev, the principal of the College and several faculty members, Dr Farha Deeba, Mr. Rajesh Kumar, Mr. Pravesh Chandra Verma, Ms. Shreya Sharma, Ms. Shalini, Mr. Ankur Dev, Mr. Vaibhav Jha, Mr. Pradeep Saini, who organised and hosted the event successfully.

Portrait Competition Highlights

Students showcased their artistic skills by creating captivating portraits using diverse mediums such as pencil, charcoal, watercolour, and digital tools. The competition not only discovered hidden talents but also served as a platform for learning new and innovative portrait drawing techniques.

Winners and Recognition

All the participants showed great talent and enthusiasm along with the exceptional winners, with Faizan securing the first position, Urooj Fatima claiming the second position, and Satakshi securing the third position. Humera Siddiqui was awarded a consolation prize for her outstanding contribution to the competition.

During the result announcement, Mr. Ravindra Dev, the principal of the College, addressed the students, shedding light on Sardar Patel's great contribution to uniting the nation. The event not only celebrated artistic talent but also instilled a sense of patriotism and unity among the participants.

Significance of the Event

In alignment with the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the competition aimed to provide a platform to recognise and reward exceptional skills. The creative expression through art served as a tribute to the Iron Man of India.
