Teerthanker Mahaveer University celebrated National Startup Day 2026 with a dynamic and insightful event focused on innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup culture. The programme witnessed meaningful discussions and active participation from students, faculty, and industry experts.

The event was organised by the Teerthanker Mahaveer Innovation Foundation (TMIF) in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC). The theme “Innovate, Inspire, Ignite” set the tone for encouraging creative thinking and practical implementation.

The event commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting in the Medical Lecture Theatre in front of Goddess Saraswati. The formal inauguration of National Startup Day 2026 TMU followed soon after. The program was graced by eminent dignitaries, including:

The keynote speaker, Mr Ajay Singh, Technology and Innovation Head at Startup Austria, highlighted the global importance of innovation. He emphasised how even smaller nations like Austria have established a strong global presence through innovation.

He encouraged students to explore international opportunities and introduced the ‘Go Austria’ platform, where innovative ideas can be nurtured and developed further.

Key Mantras for Entrepreneurial Success

Executive Director Mr Akshat Jain shared three essential principles for success in entrepreneurship:

He motivated students to think big and develop a global perspective. He also described TMU as an “education startup” that has built a strong identity over the past 25 years through commitment and service.

Startup Discussions and Innovation Growth

Vice Chancellor Prof. V.K. Jain cited examples of successful startups like Paytm, OYO, and Mumbai’s Dabbawalas, emphasising that identifying real-world problems is the foundation of every successful startup.

Prof. Manjula Jain highlighted India’s rapid progress in the Global Innovation Index, showcasing the country’s growing strength in innovation.

One of the major highlights of National Startup Day 2026 TMU was the Startup Showcase, where various startups presented their products and ideas. A panel discussion on “Building for Bharat” focused on solving grassroots challenges, promoting inclusive entrepreneurship, and driving India-centric innovation.
