National Pharmacy Week Celebration at College of Pharmacy

Teerthanker Mahaveer College of Pharmacy (TMCOP) celebrated 61st National Pharmacy Week from 20-11-2022 to 26-11-2022. Several events were scheduled to spread information about the pharmacy profession under the event named Anesthetica. This year’s National Pharmacy Week theme was "Pharmacy of the World - India." The objective of celebrating this week is to acknowledge and thank all pharmacists for their valuable contributions to the healthcare sector.


The chief guest, Mr. Sandeep Badola, Chairman, Uttar Pradesh Pharmacy Council, said that Teerthanker Mahaveer University is taking the pharmacy college towards excellence by providing state-of-the-art facilities to students. He emphasized the need for proper compliance with the Drug and Cosmetic Act and the strengthening of the rules. He elaborated on the incomparable role of pharmacists in the challenging times of COVID-19 and said that there is immense potential in the pharma sector to move forward.


Dr. Anurag Verma, Principal, Teerthanker Mahaveer College of Pharmacy, said that National Pharmacy Week is organised to spread information about the responsibility of the pharmacist towards society. He highlighted the history of the pharmacy profession and the development of pharmacy education in the country. Shri Hemant Chowdhary, Secretary, Uttar Pradesh Pharmacy Council, informed about the new online system of registration for pharmacists in the Uttar Pradesh Pharmacy Council. He gave a call that together we all have to take the profession of pharmacy to greater heights.


Senior Professor Dr. Subhash Dinda congratulated everyone on the occasion of the 61st National Pharmacy Week and encouraged everyone to do outreach activities so that the important role of pharmacists in the field of healthcare can be presented to society. Later, students of D.Pharm gave an informative presentation on the topic of dengue and malaria and students of B.Pharm on family planning and contraception. In the end, Prof. Milind Pande presented a vote of thanks to the cultural committee, students and faculty members for their tireless efforts in the successful organisation of the event.
