Dr Pooja Hatwal, Assistant Professor, shared valuable information about the development of forensic medicine in India. All the respected guests were honoured by the department as a mark of respect.
The celebration showed how forensic medicine plays an important role in finding the truth, supporting the justice system, and helping scientific investigations. The dignitaries encouraged students to develop their knowledge and skills in this important medical field. They also motivated them to contribute to society through ethical and scientific practice.
Academic Sessions and Student Participation
One of the main attractions of the event was the poster presentation competition. MBBS students prepared informative and creative posters on different forensic and medico-legal topics. Their presentations reflected their knowledge, creativity, and scientific thinking. The best participants were recognised and awarded for their outstanding performance. The competition encouraged students to learn forensic concepts in an engaging and practical way.
Mock Crime Scene Demonstration
To make the event more practical, Dr Sachin, Senior Resident, along with postgraduate students, created a mock homicide crime scene inside the department. A mannequin was used as the victim, while red-coloured fluid represented blood stains. Footprints, a knife, and crime scene warning tapes were arranged to create a realistic investigation setup. The demonstration gave students practical exposure to crime scene investigation and forensic interpretation. It generated great interest among the students and helped them understand real-life forensic procedures.
Inauguration of the New Mortuary Cold Room Facility
Another major highlight of the event was the inauguration of the department’s newly established high-standard mortuary cold room facility. The dignitaries formally inaugurated the facility, which was developed to improve medico-legal services and strengthen the preservation of forensic evidence. Faculty members, postgraduate students, and staff members worked together to make the event successful.
The department also expressed its sincere gratitude to Hon. Chancellor Shri Suresh Ji Jain, Hon. Group Vice Chancellor Shri Manish Ji Jain, Hon. Akshat Ji Jain, Hon. Director Shri Abhishek Ji Kapoor, the college administration, faculty members, students, and supporting departments for their continuous guidance and support.
