International Women's Day Celebration 2020

The International Women's Day was celebrated from 1st to 7th March, 2020 as per the letter received from UGC dated 28th February, 2020; a series of programs were organized by TMMC&RC.

An Interactive lecture for 4th Semester students was organized at Lecture Theater, Medical College on 5th March, 2020 highlighting the laws related to rights of women and gender equality. This lecture was taken by Dr. Astha Lalwani, Associate Professor, Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology.

This lecture was followed by Poster making competition of 4th Semester students on 5th March, 2020 by the Department of Pharmacology on the theme of "I am Gender Equality". The students were divided into groups of five and the posters were judged by Dr. S K Jain, Vice Principal & Prof & Head, Department of Anatomy; Dr. Prithpal Singh Matreja, Prof & Head, Department of Pharmacology; Dr. Sangeeta Kapoor, Prof & Head, Department of Biochemistry; Dr. Shruti Chandak, Prof of Department of Radio diagnosis and Dr. Pallavi Ahluwalia, Prof of Department of Anesthesia. The students were judged on neatness, innovation and sticking to the concept. The winners were team of Puneet Raghav, Puneet Sharma, Puniya Thareja, Rahul Choudhary and Rajvaibhav.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology on 6th March, 2020 organized a free health consultation camp for the female students, women staff and patients.

The Department of Psychiatry on 6th March, 2020 also organized a camp with emphasis on Female patients with psychiatric disorders and they also distributed free drugs to the patients.

The Department of General Surgery on 6th March, 2020 also organized a camp for awareness of BSE (Breast Self Examination) on screening of Breast Lumps.

The Department of Pediatrics on 7th March, 2020 organized a health check up for girls and appropriate counseling according to age and free distribution of drugs.

The Department of Community Medicine organized interactive lectures for Second Semester and Fourth Semester on Women's Right and Gender Equality on 6th & 7th March, 2020.
