Home Environment is the major cause for Conduct Disorder : Dr. Prena Gupta

The theme of 'Mental Health in an Unequal World' for World Mental Health Day 2021 on October 10 emphasises the critical need to focus on health beyond the physical aspect. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated inequalities in human development, including a double whammy on mental health by increasing the prevalence of mental disorders while disrupting already limited mental health services.


Keeping this in mind, a seminar along with a panel discussion was conducted by the College of Nursing. University Senior Psychiatrist, Dr. Prena Gupa discussed Conduct Disorder and its symptoms. “Conduct disorder refers to a group of behavioral and emotional problems characterized by a disregard for others. Children with conduct disorder have a difficult time following rules and behaving in a socially acceptable way. Their behavior can be hostile and sometimes physically violent.” says Dr. Prena
