Dental Health for Women – Mission Shakti 5.0 at TMU
Moradabad, October 6, 2025:
Teerthanker Mahaveer Dental College & Research Centre, Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU), successfully organised a special awareness camp titled “Dental Health for Women” under Mission Shakti 5.0, in collaboration with the U.P. Police. The event, hosted at the College of Nursing, focused on empowering women with essential knowledge linking oral health to overall well-being.
The session saw active participation from 110 girl students and 10 faculty members, highlighting TMU’s continued commitment to women’s health, empowerment, and preventive care.
Objectives of the Camp
The primary goal of the event was to educate and empower women through awareness about oral health and its broader connection to physical and mental well-being. Key objectives included:
- Educating women about the link between oral and systemic health, particularly during pregnancy, menstruation, menopause, and hormonal changes.
- Empowering women under Mission Shakti 5.0 to take charge of their personal and family oral hygiene.
- Promoting preventive dental care, balanced nutrition, and regular dental check-ups for long-term health benefits.
The interactive session encouraged calmness during emergencies, effective communication, and proactive engagement with law enforcement and healthcare professionals.
Conclusion – “Strong Women, Strong Smile”
Concluding the session, Prof. (Dr.) Shivanee M. Kaul, Head of the Department of Physiotherapy and Nodal Officer of Mission Shakti 5.0, along with Dr Ankita Jain, Vice Principal TMDC&RC, TMU, who together inspired participants to adopt holistic health and self-care as a way of empowerment.
She stated, “When a woman takes care of her health, she strengthens her family, her community, and the nation’s future. A healthy smile is not just about teeth — it’s about self-care, dignity, and empowerment.”
