CTLD Organises In-House Training Programme on "Effective Team Building for Academic Excellence" at TMU
The Centre for Teaching, Learning and Development (CTLD) at Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU) successfully organised an In-House Training Programme on "Effective Team Building for Academic Excellence" on 7th March 2025. The programme was conducted to help faculty members improve teamwork, communication, and collaboration in the academic environment. Around 15 faculty members actively participated in the training and gained practical knowledge to work together more effectively.
The training session was led by Prof. (Dr.) Pankaj Kumar Singh, Director, CTLD, explained how strong teamwork plays an important role in achieving academic excellence. He encouraged faculty members to build trust, share responsibilities, and work towards common institutional goals. The session included interactive discussions and activities that kept participants engaged throughout the programme.
Promoting Teamwork and Effective Communication
The programme started with an introduction to the basics of teamwork in higher education. Participants learned about the qualities of successful teams and how cooperation helps institutions achieve better academic results. The session explained that trust, shared objectives, and mutual support are the foundation of every successful team. Faculty members also understood how working together can improve teaching, learning, and overall institutional growth.
During the session, Prof. Singh discussed the importance of effective communication among faculty members. He highlighted key communication skills such as active listening, openness, transparency, and mutual respect. Participants also learned about common communication challenges and practical ways to overcome them. The discussion focused on creating a positive work culture where ideas can be shared freely, leading to better collaboration within departments.
Collaborative Decision-Making and Conflict Resolution
Another important part of the training focused on collaborative decision-making and conflict resolution. Faculty members explored different techniques to make better decisions as a team while respecting everyone's opinions. The session also covered professional ways to resolve workplace conflicts, build trust, and maintain healthy working relationships. These practical strategies will help faculty members create a more supportive and productive academic environment.
Case Studies and Interactive Group Activities
To make the learning experience more practical, the programme included real-life case studies, role-playing exercises, and group discussions. These activities allowed participants to apply the concepts they had learned during the training.
Faculty members worked together to solve problems, exchange experiences, and develop teamwork skills that can be used in their daily academic responsibilities. The interactive approach made the session informative, engaging, and highly beneficial.
Conclusion
The In-House Training Programme on Effective Team Building for Academic Excellence concluded successfully, with participants appreciating its practical and interactive approach. The programme helped faculty members strengthen their teamwork, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Through this initiative, CTLD once again demonstrated its commitment to promoting academic excellence, professional development, and a collaborative culture at Teerthanker Mahaveer University. Such training programmes continue to support faculty members in delivering quality education while contributing to the university's vision of continuous learning and institutional excellence.
