CTLD Organised National Seminar on Industry–Academia Collaboration at TMU
The Centre for Teaching, Learning and Development (CTLD) at Teerthanker Mahaveer University successfully organised an online National Seminar on the theme, "Innovate, Integrate, Inspire: Redefining Industry–Academia Collaboration for Viksit Bharat 2047." The seminar was conducted through Google Meet from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. It witnessed active participation from academicians, industry professionals, and students from different parts of the country.
The main objective of the seminar was to strengthen the connection between educational institutions and industries. The discussions focused on improving skill development, encouraging research partnerships, and preparing students for future employment opportunities. The event also supported India's vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
Welcome Address Highlighted the Importance of Collaboration
The programme was conducted by Dr Jasmine Stephen, Convenor of CTLD.
Prof. (Dr.) Pankaj Kumar Singh, Director of CTLD, delivered the welcome address. He said that education becomes meaningful only when it matches the changing needs of industries. He added that TMU wanted its students to become innovators rather than only job seekers. He also emphasised the importance of continuous dialogue and practical collaboration between academic institutions and industries.
Dr Manjula Jain, Dean – Academics, TMU, delivered the inaugural address. She said that teachers, industries, and students must work together to achieve the dream of Viksit Bharat 2047. She also explained that education should reflect industry requirements while industries should value the human side of education.
Industry Leaders Shared Valuable Insights
The seminar featured several experienced industry leaders who shared their knowledge with the participants. Mr Pankaj Tiwari, General Manager (HR), C.K. Birla Hospital, New Delhi, spoke about the growing importance of corporate–academic partnerships. He explained that adaptability, communication, and human skills were becoming essential for career success.
Mr Harendra Kumar Garg, Chairman of Manhari Group, highlighted that innovation and collaboration were important for India's global competitiveness. Mr Anant Agarwal, Director – Marketing & Innovation, Cogent Infotech, said that students developed real skills when they worked on live industry projects. He also mentioned that institutions using technology effectively in teaching would lead the future.
Mr Vinay Singh, Director of Litwork, Hyderabad, explained that modern graduates would be recognised not only by their degrees but also by their practical skills and positive mindset.
Interactive Session Encouraged Meaningful Discussion
A question-and-answer session was organised at the end of the seminar. Participants asked questions related to internships, skill development, industry-oriented curricula, and career opportunities. The speakers answered the queries and shared practical suggestions for students and educators.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Dileep Datt Varshney, Deputy Director, CTLD. He thanked all the speakers, participants, and organisers for making the event successful.
Conclusion
The seminar successfully created a platform for meaningful discussions between academia and industry. The event encouraged knowledge sharing, promoted future collaborations, and opened opportunities for joint research projects and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs). The seminar reflected TMU's commitment to preparing students with industry-relevant knowledge and skills while contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
