College of Law and Legal Studies celebrated Constitution Day

November 26, 2022. Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU) Moradabad under the aegis of the College of Law and Legal Studies, TMU celebrated Constitution Day with a grand session by inaugurating their newsletter. The event began with the lighting of the lamp by Professor Girish Chandra Tripathi, Honourable Chairman U.P. State Council of Higher Education, Shri Suresh Jain (Chancellor, TMU), Shri Manish Jain (Group Vice Chairman, TMU), Professor Raghuveer Singh, Vice Chancellor of TMU, Professor Harbansh Dixit, Dean of College of Law and Legal Studies, Dr. Aditya Sharma, Registrar, TMU, Dr. Manjula Jain, Associate Dean of Academics, Professor Sushil Kumar, Principal of College of Law and Legal Studies along with other faculty members.


With the presence of prominent personalities like D.I.G Moradabad, Shalabh Mathur, and S.P City Moradabad, Akhilesh Bhadauria the event turns out to be a grand one. Professor Harbansh Dixit started the event with the welcome address. In his address, he emphasized the role of Democracy in India comparing it with other countries. He also remembers Dr. B.R Ambedkar’s words about the Constitution of India mentioning how today’s generation can take further steps to make the Indian Constitution more significant. Adding to this Professor Raghuveer Singh, Vice Chancellor of TMU stated that outcome-based education is being offered at Teerthanker Mahaveer University. In this context, he also mentioned that there are almost 850 skills identified, documented, and implemented across all the disciplines in the university. Sharing briefly about the idea of academic endeavors he emphasized how these learning methods can upgrade the standard of the education system. Dr. Manjula Jain, Associate Dean of Academics added more about the implementation that has been done in the curriculum by mentioning the proposal of the Indian Knowledge Centre which has been approved by the Academic Council. She mentioned the NDP implementation under which various collaborations are being offered along with 215 skill enhancement programs for bridging the gap between the industry and the students. To align the curriculum with the industry, Industry-Academic Collaboration Centre is also established. Concluding her words, she mentioned about the duties and rights that as a citizen we all need to fulfil.


Dr Aditya Sharma Registrar, TMU threw light upon the journey of Teerthanker Mahaveer University. Adding more to this he stated about the quality of education offered to the students along with the services and facilities offered at TMU. Sharing more about the achievements of Teerthanker Mahaveer University he also mentioned the NAAC Accreditation and 12-B Status awarded to the university. Being more specific about the numbers he shared all the data about the number of Research papers that are being published along with the patents filed by the faculty members within 3 years. Explaining the university ecosystem, he mentioned how Teerthanker Mahaveer University is building an environment where professionals are produced who can better serve society and can contribute to the growth of the nation. In a nutshell, he mentioned all the strategies with which the future outcomes will be fruitful in terms of making the university listed among the top universities in the country. On this auspicious occasion, the students of the College of Law and Legal Studies under the guidance of their faculty members and honorable chief guest released a newsletter “Lexpression” and were felicitated for the same. Appreciating the work of all the students Shri Suresh Jain (Chancellor, TMU) shared his words that were motivating for all the students and shared his experiences that showcase how far he took the university in terms of growth and development by offering quality education and services to every student. In this session students who participated in the “First Intra Collegiate Model Youth Parliament Debate” and “Constitution Day Speech Competition” were awarded by the chief guest.


Concluding the session honorable Chief guest Prof. Dr. G.C Tripathi shared his valuable words mentioning education as a tool that enlightens the heart and mind. Moreover, he emphasized the value of language in one’s nation. Summarising the words, he shared about the ideology where theme and idea have to be perfect, rational, and consistent for better understanding.
